What you’ll be doing:
As an ACES Controls Technician, you will be a senior level team member of the Centralized Services ACES (Automation & Controls Expert Services) Team which supports Trane commercial sales offices with on-site commercial Building Automation System support and remote programming and diagnostic services.
The job duties range from traveling to job sites* to assist with controls system installations, checkout and commissioning, systems integration, project engineering, graphics, training and remote services. *Please note, this role is 90-100% travel*
In this vital role, you will be performing technical assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related controls system related tasks. As the subject matter expert within area of expertise relevant to the business, you may provide guidance/training to less experienced technicians and applications engineers.
When you aren’t on the road, you’ll be working remotely out of a home office setup.

What you'll bring to the table:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience programming with commercial controls and BAS systems
    • Previous background in programming, commissioning and startup of Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or Tridium/Niagara based controls systems desired.
    • Trane Ensemble and Legacy experience is highly preffered! 
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office and comfortable with hand-held devices (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
  • A valid driver’s license, with no major or frequent traffic violations
  • EPA Certification Preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling.  It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and or move up to 40 lbs and occasionally lift and or move more than 40 lbs.
