As a Materials NDT Technician at Trane Technologies, you’ll be working side by side with experienced professionals to support the development of various components and systems in the Trane Technologies Engineering & Technology Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin. This position will primarily involve laboratory materials testing and interpretation of results for multiple sample types. Previous experience with NDT, materials analysis, corrosion, specifications, and test protocols is desired.

Where is the work:
This position has been designated as Onsite.
What you will do:
- Perform radiographic, eddy current, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and visual inspections on laboratory projects
- Collect, manage, and evaluate test data for accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare reports and other work documents as directed by engineering staff in a timely and accurate manner
- Participate in development of best practices and procedures for radiography testing.
- Work safely; maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Set up and perform standardized laboratory tests with preparation of material test samples for mechanical testing equipment, optical microscopes, radiographic testing (RT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and SEM/EDS.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot instruments.
- Less than 5% travel required.
What you will bring:
- Associates Degree, Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in NDT, materials technology, or related field
- Applicants must be capable of working independently, with mentorship by senior laboratory staff, and show demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Familiar with NDT equipment (Computed Radiography) and experienced with NDT methods (Eddy Current, Penetrant, Ultrasonic, and magnetic particle) preferred
- Computer literacy and working knowledge to operate typical business and software programs including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills within cross-functional teams required.
- English speaking/reading/writing skills required
- Ability to read and follow written instructions, analyze and interpret drawings, technical specifications
- Experience with ferrous and non-ferrous alloys, metallurgy, related manufacturing processes preferred.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to manipulate parts, operate testing equipment, computer, keyboard, and telephone. The employee is required to frequently walk, sit, and stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $46,000 – $62,000
