Trane Technologies is excited to announce an opportunity for a talented professional to join our team as an Associate Tech Lead - CFD. In this role, you will facilitate flow and thermal analysis for our current and upcoming products. You will collaborate with design and cross-functional teams to develop products that meet global specifications. Projects may include productivity, new product development, quality and reliability, new technology platforms.

You will be engaged in CFD simulation and should be skilled in airflow and thermal analysis, unsteady simulation, and electronics cooling analysis. Additionally, you will contribute to our long-range plans involving digital technologies, IoT, and electrification.

Where is the work:


Hybrid: This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week based in Bangalore location.

What will you do:

In this role you will: 

·       Lead CFD Projects: Work on CFD projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to timelines.

·       Utilize ANSYS Tools: Perform detailed flow and thermal analyses using ANSYS tools (CFX and Fluent).

·       Develop CFD Models: Create and optimize CFD models for battery thermal management systems (BTMS) and electronic cooling applications.

·       Create UDFs: Develop and implement user-defined functions (UDF) to enhance simulation capabilities.

·       Collaborate with Teams: Work with design, mechanical, and electrical engineers to integrate CFD insights into product development.

·       Mentor Junior Engineers: Provide technical expertise and foster a collaborative team environment.

·       Prepare Reports: Create technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.

What you will bring:

  • Educational Background: Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with a focus on CFD.
  • Experience: 7+ years in CFD analysis using ANSYS tools (CFX and Fluent).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong flow and thermal analysis background, especially in BTMS and electronic cooling.
    • Proficiency in developing UDFs.
    • Programming skills in Python and C for automation and customization.
  • Knowledge Areas:
    • Experience in solidification, melting, multiphase simulations, and HVAC.
    • Understanding CFD theory and flow/thermal physics.
    • Knowledge of sustainable design and energy-efficient technologies.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
    • Adaptability and leadership skills.
    • Creative thinking and proactive problem-solving.
  • Candidates without a master’s degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
