The BI Application Owner will lead the oversight, development, and management of Business Intelligence (BI) applications throughout their lifecycle. They will partner closely with the Operations Leader for smooth day-to-day operations that keep the BI applications running smoothly for users. They will collaborate with the BI Domain Architect and key, cross-functional teams to make strategic, technical, and design decisions that shape the BI environment. Additionally, they will manage BI tool licensing and work alongside the business enablement team to address evolving business needs, ensuring proper features and licenses are in place.
The Application Owner is a key player in driving projects that impact the BI landscape, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed with a focus on both technical and business requirements.

Where is the work:
Due to the nature of this role, this position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.
What you will do:
- Oversee the full lifecycle of BI applications – from development and implementation to ongoing management and enhancements, ensuring the systems are aligned with both technical and business goals.
- Collaborate with the Operations Leader to ensure the seamless day-to-day operation of BI applications, maintaining high availability, performance, and meeting SLAs.
- Partner with the BI Domain Architect and cross-functional teams to make informed strategic decisions about the technical design, architecture, and governance of the BI environment, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with business needs.
- Manage BI tool licensing, partnering with the operations team to monitor usage ensure compliance with vendor agreements. Proactively assess future needs based on business growth, feature requirements, and system upgrades (e.g., transitioning from on-premises to cloud solutions).
- Work closely with the business enablement team to understand and respond to evolving business needs, ensuring the BI environment is equipped with the necessary tools, features, and capabilities to support strategic objectives.
- Play a key role in BI transformation projects, including directly supporting the migration from legacy systems to modern BI platforms, seamless transitions, data integrity, and effective change management processes.
- Support and challenge business requests for changes or enhancements to BI applications, offering alternative solutions, when possible, to minimize unnecessary complexity while meeting business objectives.
- Coordinate with project management teams to ensure all BI-related projects follow established PMO processes, including project chartering, tracking, risk mitigation, and timely issue resolution.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the BI application portfolio, leveraging feedback from stakeholders to optimize system performance and reduce operational costs.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of IT experience, with a preference for Business Intelligence or analytics platform administration.
- Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Dataiku, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with BI migrations and managing licenses for large-scale BI environments.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in high-stakes, time-sensitive environments.
- Customer Focus: Strong alignment with business needs, ensuring that the voice of the customer is integrated into BI application decisions.
- Leadership & Team Collaboration: Demonstrated leadership skills in cross-functional team environments, particularly in managing both internal teams and outsourced operations.
- Technical Acumen & Problem Solving: Ability to address complex technical challenges, make strategic design decisions, and manage large-scale implementations.
- Communication Skills: Proficient in both verbal and written communication, able to engage with technical teams, executive leadership, and external vendors.
Compensation:
Base Salary: $94,000 - $125,000
