Braze Trainer - 3rd shift

Job Summary:
Trains employees on various positions throughout the production environment and can perform as a substitute in most positions throughout the plant.
Responsibilites:
- Train employees who are new to their position how to do the position effectively
- Support a line or department during times of short staffing or employee absence and perform the position in their place
- Can support as needed throughout the plant
- Makes suggestions for improvement using the Lean Principles and shares best practices across production lines
- Extensive knowledge and skill in most jobs throughout the plant
- Ability to utilize a wide variety of tools
- Ability to teach others in a clear and concise manner
- Learns and understands positions quickly
- Ability to utilize the Lean Principles
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be a certified brazer in all the braze qualifications for the plant.
- Demonstration of strong communication and presentation skills
- Show ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
- Recommended HVAC systems experience and understanding, or EPA 208 trained.
- Production and Processing – Basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality controls, costs, and other elements associated with an effective manufacturing system.
- Safety/Ergo – Strong working knowledge of Trane/OSHA safety rules & ergonomic guidelines
- Motivational Fit – Seeking a passionate, energetic person who is focused on improving the customer experience and making a positive impact on employee engagement.
- Trainer candidates should receive proper training before attempting to train brazers in production environment. No associate is allowed to train brazers without successfully completing certification requirements of the job.
Braze Trainer Certification Requirements:
· Complete Facilitation Skills Program
· Utilizing Facilitation Skills Participant Guide
· Complete Braze Train the Trainer Program - Class will be a 4 to 5 day class utilizing the standard Braze Classroom Training materials based on materials being brazed length depending upon number of trainees following the Train the Trainer Schedule.
· Class consists of trainer candidates reviewing the standard braze training materials presented by a Master Trainer.
· Followed by Braze Trainer candidates successfully participating in a teach-back process
o Each candidate teaches the standard materials to the class for critique, feedback and assessment by a Master Trainer
o Utilizing the Observer – Assessment Feedback sheet.
o Utilizing the T3 Tracking Form
o Successfully demonstrate practical training brazing skills per standard braze training materials’ demonstrations
· Requirements to fully be the site trainer requires Master Trainer scoring of a minimum of ‘3’ (acceptable). Score of 2 or more requires additional coaching and improvements and the trainer candidate cannot teach classes until reaching a score of 3 minimum. The improvement plan will be defined by the Master Trainer and appropriate plant member to coordinate and ensure improvement plan enacted.
· Certified braze trainers are required to complete a recertification annually to ensure proper techniques and skills remain in place
· Braze Trainer Re-Certification Requirements
. Training class audited by Master Trainer once per 2 years minimum.

b. Utilizing T3 Tracking Form
· Observations and rating same as initial train the trainer program
· Associates who fail a braze trainer recertification audit must retake and successfully complete the Train the Trainer Program.
· Trainer can also be removed from position based on inadequate job performance as observed by employee’s supervisor or master trainer recommendation based on assessment.
Education and/or Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a High school diploma or equivalent degree
- 3 to 5 years of production brazing experience
- Must be able to demonstrate work ethic and learning agility
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Physical Requirements:
- Perform tasks requiring hand and eye coordination, with good hand dexterity (gripping and pinching repetitively) for more than 2/3’s of work shift
- Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 10 pounds continuously, 25 pounds repetitively and 50 pounds occasionally. Lifting or carrying objects over 50 pounds requires a two person lift, or a lift assist
- Bend, twist, squat, kneel, and/or stoop repetitively 6 to 8 hours per day
- Reach overhead repetitively for more than 2/3’s of work shift
- Stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours per day
- Climb up and down stairs up to 3 hours per day
- Use of senses to detect quality defects and unsafe conditions
- Basic visual requirements for precision work
- Moderate physical exertion
