Job Summary:

Overseeing state contractor licensing, managing terms and conditions, performing Federal Acquistion Regulation (FAR) flow down analysis, and managing federal representations and certifications. Additionally, you will review contracts and related documents to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements and identify and manage legal and contractual risk.

 

Where is the work: 

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week. 

What you will do:   

  • Overseeing Commercial HVAC State Contractor Licensing, including:
    • Identifying contractor licensing requirements and compliance issues applicable to Trane's business.
    • Conducting licensing research and analyses related to license requirements and compliance.
    • Overseeing and managing databases related to state contractor licensing held or needed by Trane.
    • Facilitating the application process for new and enhanced licenses.
    • Coordinating the renewal application process for existing licenses.
    • Coordinating the process for obtaining and maintaining licensing bonds.
    • Providing leadership with regular reports on licensing matters.
    • Strategizing and overseeing the development and implementation of processes, tools, and training to ensure Trane's compliance with state contractor licensing laws.
  • Providing Commercial HVAC Americas Contract Management support, including:
    • Reviewing contracts and related documents to ensure compliance with Company policies and legal requirements.
    • Identifying and managing legal and contractual risks associated with the Trane business offerings in North America including providing business leaders with assessments of legal, contractual and select business risk and recommendations, as warranted.
    • Developing and maintaining strong business relationships with various groups across the Trane organization.
    • Serving as a member of the Global Legal, Contract Management Center of Expertise team and developing and implementing consistent COE standards, processes, metrics, solutions, templates and tools to improve and facilitate best-in-class business and contract processes in the Contract Management function.
  • Maintaining and developing SharePoint sites and databases, including content that provides guidance to sales office personnel completing questionnaires and licensing applications.
  • Coordinating and updating of various sales and fulfillment agreements and terms and conditions templates.
  • Providing Contracting legal research upon request by attorney.
  • Conducting Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) flow down analysis.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

What you will bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, legal studies, or related field and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of business experience.
  • Has strong knowledge of commonly used business concepts, practices, and procedures. 
  • Excellent judgment and initiative in selecting the most effective solutions and in creating and implementing standard tools to resolve recurring business and/or commercial issues.
  • Experience in legal research.
  • Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Clauses.
  • Ability to apply well-developed written and oral communication skills. Business or contract writing experience preferred.
  • Ability to quickly understand business objectives, identify related issues, and conduct a thorough risk/benefit analysis.
  • Business-oriented approach to problem-solving, tempered by an appreciation for legal complexity and risk management.
  • Must be able to apply well-developed personal computer skills.
  • Strong reading comprehension skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize and manage workload, manage simultaneous tasks and meet deadlines within a changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to meet short and long term deadlines and goals.
  • Detail-oriented and resourceful with excellent follow-through skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment required.
  • Flexible and adaptable – unafraid of ambiguity or a challenge.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues and all levels of business functions.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $92,200-121,800

Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
