Job Summary:

Trane Technologies is seeking to hire a Corporate Counsel to be based in Bangkok, Thailand.  This role will report to Vice President & General Counsel, Asia Pacific.

 The Corporate Counsel will be primarily responsible for legal matters relating to business operations in Thailand. This position will work closely with business in Thailand as well as members of the Legal Department in the Asia Pacific Region.

 This position requires a detail oriented, self-motivated, analytical, commercially minded and practical legal talent. The Corporate Counsel will cover a broad range of legal matters, including commercial contracts, corporate governance, procurement, channel management, litigation and risk mitigation.


Responsibilities: 

l   Interact directly with business in Thailand and provide legal support to the daily commercial operation of the business, including drafting, review and negotiation of various commercial contracts, including but not limited to sales, distribution, and procurement contracts.

  • Cnnduct legal research, provide proactive and business-oriented legal counseling, and advise on the broad range of legal matters that confront a global company in Thailand.

Implement global/regional strategies, policies and processes in Thailand.

Support litigation and pre-litigation matters (such as settlement negotiations and documentations) in Thailand. 

Assist in developing legal strategies to risk mitigation and process improvement in Thailand and the Asia Pacific region.

Assist in developing legal standard tools and processes for use in Thailand and the Asia Pacific Region. 

Manage external counsels on litigation and other legal matters.

Conduct business-oriented legal trainings to meet regional and local objectives.

Work on special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

LLB or equivalent degree from an accredited law school in Thailand.

Thailand qualified attorney with minimum 3-5 years of legal experience obtained in a law firm and/or in a multi-national in-house setting.

High level of integrity and a commitment to compliance.

Strong language skills in Thai and English

Strong legal research and drafting skills

Desire to proactively engage in legal and cross-functional processes to help the businesses perform more effectively while mitigating risk.  Expertise and/or prior experiences in operational excellence/process improvement are highly preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with business and peers effectively

Strong business acumen with a business-oriented approach to problem-solving, tempered by an appreciation for legal complexity, ethics and risk.

Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable, self-motivated, and possesses a positive outlook with an innovative and creative spirit.

Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a fast-paced and energetic environment, and ability to meet short-and long-term deadlines.
