Job Summary:

The Digital Factory Leader will drive innovative advanced manufacturing system solutions and technologies, within the Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) space, to enable and accelerate Trane Technologies factory digitization and Industry 4.0 capabilities.  The Leader will partner with Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) organizations to develop strategic roadmaps and technology plans, collaborating at an enterprise and regional segment level, to accelerate solutions in our global manufacturing footprint. This role will be based in Davidson, NC.

Where is the work:  

  • This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.  


What you will do:

  • Drive common and standard system solutions within the IT/OT architecture per ISA-95 standard, with key focus on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), SCADA systems, network architecture, hardware architecture, software architecture, and data architecture
  • Partner with the AMT Organization, system Solution Architects and Enterprise Architecture to pilot new solutions and technologies to accelerate Trane Technologies factory digitization and Industry 4.0 capabilities
  • Research and source innovation and industry-proven ideas, explore with a focus on business benefit, validate the technology in collaboration with the AMT organization
  • Partner with Enterprise Applications Delivery Teams on the development of a strategic roadmap and technology plan at an enterprise and business unit level accelerating implementation and driving standardization across the organization
  • Partner to develop a technology plan for merger and acquisition opportunities
  • Focus on advanced manufacturing solutions that meet the highest cybersecurity standards in collaboration with IT Cybersecurity team.
  • Manage strategic sourcing relationships and outsourcing agreements globally to deliver innovative solutions at speed to the organization
  • Develop collaborative relationships with corporate IT functions and business unit leaders to drive transformation through technology levering synergies across the organization to deliver business value
  • Ensure compliance to policies in all IT solutions and processes for applications in scope.
  • Act as a change leader, incorporating industry benchmarks and best practises to drive innovation 


What you will bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience with Advanced Manufacturing tools and technology (e.g., PLM, ERP, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), SCADA, Manufacturing Bill of Materials
  • 5+ years’ experience with IT/OT Architecture: Network, Hardware, Software, and Data plus cybersecurity
  • Experience with Model Based Enterprise, Digital Twin, and Digital Thread concepts.
  • Experience implementing technologies to enable Industry 4.0/5.0.
  • Ability to write robust IT/OT specifications and playbooks for global use.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Master’s Degree preferred 
  • Qualifications or equivalent work experience with Lean principles in IT (Agile Project Delivery, DevSecOps) 

Key Competencies:

  • Qualified candidates shall be motivated thought leaders, possess strong business acumen coupled with expert knowledge of complex in scope technology solutions and underlying architecture   
  • 5+ years of experience delivering complex manufacturing IT/OT solutions (Siemens Teamcenter, Oracle R12, Apriso and Ignition an advantage)
  • Strong knowledge of PLM, MES, ERP integrations and processes, and data exchange to factory floor
  • Ability to assess current state application framework, assess business needs (current and future), and drive effective and efficient processing via the in-scope applications
  • Experience working with senior leadership to develop and implement IT strategies
  • Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to gather facts and deliver succinct messages to all levels of leadership
  • Strong people management skills with demonstrated ability leading senior professionals across matrixed and external teams  

Compensation:    

Annual Base Compensation: $90,000-140,000
