The Role          
Investor Relations is responsible for cultivating relationships with the investment community, educating and updating investors about the company and providing feedback internally on how the market views the company.  Reporting to the Vice President of Investor Relations, the Director of Investor Relations is responsible for jointly carrying out all investor relations strategies, policies and programs in order to maximize the long-term sustainable company valuation. This position drives the internal and external communications plan surrounding investor relations and all financial communications. Furthermore, the Director serves as a liaison for daily inquiries from investors and targets and proactively develops and maintains buy-side and sell-side relationships. This role will be based at our North American Headquarters outside Charlotte in Davidson, North Carolina.

Principal Responsibilities

The Director, Investor Relations responsibilities include:
•    Execution of short and long-term strategies to attract and inform investors and analysts in a manner that communicates the company’s strategy, as well as operational and financial performance, while establishing realistic expectations for future performance.
•    Advancing and driving company’s strategic targeting program to identify, attract and forge strong relationships with current and potential long-term investors who have investment objectives that align with the company’s financial characteristics.
•    Working with senior and executive management to develop a thorough understanding of the company’s strategy, businesses and performance in order to develop clear, concise and compelling communications for the investment community (including road shows, conferences and small group/one-on-one meetings) and to prepare management for all events.
•    Overseeing creation of messaging and content for quarterly earnings calls, including earnings presentation, prepared remarks, Q&A and other preparatory materials. Work with business units, finance, communications, accounting, legal, etc., to coordinate and execute the issuance of all public materials. 
•    Developing, executing and maintaining a strategic communication outreach plan to improve ESG communications with investment community and specifically ESG-focused firms and funds
•    Driving the IR team’s response to daily inquiries from the investment community, in compliance with company Disclosure policies and applicable SEC rules and regulations. Maintaining an extremely responsive and accurate posture towards all investment community inquiries.
•    Staying apprised of market opinions, attitudes as well as reactions to company issues and peer news and industry trends. Making recommendations based on observations. 
•    Preparing management updates on financial market intelligence and significant issues and trends. Closely monitoring all available information including sell side reporting and sharing that information as appropriate.
•    Working with other departments and external vendors to develop and oversee and / or produce all appropriate financial communications, such as webcasts, presentations, consensus analytics and other materials for investor conferences, earnings releases, other press releases and the annual report.
•    Leading in the development and maintenance of competitive analysis 
•    Assisting with the management of external relationships such as the NYSE, designated market makers and stock surveillance firms. Being the primary point of contact for surveillance and producing weekly reports highlighting important shareholder and trading trends.
•    Leading content creation for and managing the investor relations portion of the company website in accordance with best practices.

Candidate Profile

•    15+ years of proven, progressive experience in Accounting and Finance.
•    Strong investor relations experience as a number one or two at a large cap company preferred
•    Other capital markets experience such as sell-side, buy-side, investor relations related consulting also favorable
•    Undergraduate degree required, MBA preferred and CPA a plus.
•    Demonstrated interest and aptitude in learning and understanding investor relations and the capital markets and in developing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the company, its strategy, its business operations and financial performance.
•    Demonstrated history of relationship building which will be crucial to building relationships both inside the company and with the investment community.
•    Strong financial acumen, understanding of financial statements and analytical skills.
•    Ability to operate in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
•    Ability to develop a thorough understanding of timely and accurate disclosure requirements.
•    Excellent strategic agility. Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated success in developing and articulating recommendations/opinions.
•    Effective people manager / cross-functional team leader with proven ability in leading and inspiring a team.
•    Proven project management skills with a keen attention to detail.
•    Self-starter with a demonstrated history of delivering results required
