CHVAC IT Domain Architects define, own and improve end-to-end solutions that meet the needs of users and stakeholders of IT products and business processes throughout the CHVAC Americas landscape. We ensure that all components of a solution follow Trane’s architectural tenets and that the solution as a whole gives users the best experience possible.

Each Domain Architect will be a leader, a learner, a problem-solver, a collaborator, and a coach. You are part of the CHVAC IT Architecture Team, which prizes T-shaped employees who bring diverse areas of expertise together to help each other create solutions that achieve Trane’s business and IT goals. You will be the designated Architecture team expert for one of a few large domains of IT products such as Acquisition, Fulfillment or Financials. In your domain, you will have a thorough understanding of how our technologies and applications function to meet the users’ needs. You will also be the designated Architecture point of contact and partner for a business value stream such as Equipment, Building Services, Energy Services or International. Because the stakeholders’ needs in that value stream may cross into other domains, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from your peers who have deeper expertise in those areas as you design end-to-end solutions.

·       Serve as a strategic IT partner who guides and governs Portfolio Managers and product teams to achieve Product Roadmap(s)

You will participate in Proofs of Concept and Pilots led by the appropriate Platform Team.

·       Hold yourself and your supported product and project teams accountable for the quality of the

end-to-end experience of users. As the end-to-end solution owner, you will pay special attention

to the quality of the solution it crosses the boundaries of more than one application or technology

·       Hold yourself, your fellow architects and your product teams accountable to follow our architectural tenets, use existing design patterns and preferred technologies wherever possible, and to design any new architectural tools for maximum extensibility and reusability

·       Coach product teams how to avoid bias to a specific technology or solution approach, rather to let the requirements, our architectural tenets and our established design patterns objectively determine the best solution.

·       Follow the lead of Portfolio Managers to communicate with stakeholders to gain stakeholder understanding of and buy-in for our roadmaps and solutions

·       Eliminate, replace or improve components of our solution architecture that do not meet architectural standards and vision defined by and in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture team and other architectural partners.
