EHS Technician II
Job Summary:
The EHS Technician II supports Trane Technologies’ commitment to creating safe, sustainable, and compliant workplaces by assisting in the implementation and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs. This role plays a key part in maintaining regulatory compliance, reducing risk, and strengthening the company’s safety culture across the facility.
Responsibilities
· Develop and implement health and safety programs to meet regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Maintain visibility on the manufacturing floor, interfacing with employees in identifying hazards and implementing practices to reduce those hazards.
- Lead incident investigations, perform root‑cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Conduct routine EHS inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with Trane Technologies’ policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Create, deliver, track, and document employee EHS training.
- Administer the employee shoe and safety‑eyewear voucher program.
- Participate in and help coordinate waste management processes, including proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Assist with emergency preparedness programs, including drills, equipment inspections, and response team coordination.
- Support compliance with environmental permits, including air, water, and waste regulations.
- Support safety initiatives including PPE compliance, ergonomic assessments, machine guarding reviews, and connect & engage.
- Maintain SDS management systems and ensure Hazard Communication compliance.
- Participate in regulatory inspections and corporate audits.
- Help drive continuous improvement efforts aligned with Trane Technologies’ sustainability goals and safety performance objectives.
- Serve on sustainability committee.
Qualifications
· Associate degree in Environmental, Safety, Industrial Technology, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
· 2–4 years of experience in an EHS support role within manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments.
· Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and basic understanding of environmental compliance requirements.
· Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Strong interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
· Ability to solve a wide range of problems with support from EHS on complex issues.
· Proficient in MS Office products.
· Computer literate and capable of learning specialized software packages.
Must be able to lift 35 lbs. from ground level.
