    Job Summary:

    The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for executing critical product design improvement projects. This position will collaborate cross-functionally across multiple regions and will be responsible for delivering major New Product Development (NPD) programs that meet specific performance and quality/ cost/ delivery goals. This individual will support cross-functional project teams to align product requirements, determine root cause of failure, develop solutions, direct validation activities, and support team members to implement solutions in production.


    Responsibilities: 
    • Design and Development of Electrical/Electronic solutions for HVAC & Transport Refrigeration systems, working in conjunction with internal Subject Matter Experts (SME) and external experts, delivering solutions that meet all project scope requirements, including Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Service.
    • Optimize the design of electrical & electronic components like Motors, Power converters, sensors, contactors, fuses, switches, controllers, and other high voltage components to improve reliability, durability, performance, safety and reduce cost.
    • Apply systematic problem-solving skills and investigate product Quality and Reliability issues to find root cause, containment, and permanent corrective action design change recommendations.
    • Create detailed documentation of Electrical / Electronic components, including detailed specification drawings and Application Specification Documents.
    • Co-ordination of any required regulatory testing of Electrical / Electronic solutions at external agencies, including HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Test), EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) testing, as required per regulatory standards
    • Knowledge and ability to work within New Product Development (NPD) Process, with innate understanding of documented prerequisites and Milestone deliverables.
    • Develop and manage supplier partnerships with TK’s current and prospective new suppliers, working closely with vendors to develop and deliver solutions.
    • Lead design reviews, design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA) and design validation plan and report (DVP&R) activities.
    • Author lab test plans, conduct testing, analyze and interpret results and execute design updates based on the results.
    • Liaison with Controls & Software Development groups to develop software and Controls Algorithms for different product units.
    • Should have good Knowledge on wiring diagrams, schematics. 
    • Identify industry trends and standards in the automotive industry specifically related to Sensor technology, electrical machines, power electronics components, batteries, hybrid drive systems.
    Qualifications:
    • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in an Electrical / Electronic Engineering discipline.
    • Approximately 3 - 5 years of experience in Electrical system design experience in the industrial, or automotive industry desired.
    • Position is based in Bangalore

    Key Competencies:

    • Prior Experience of component qualification programs and new product development in an automotive/ industrial application is a distinct advantage.
    • Experience with electrical system design and harness / interconnection systems and automotive networks (CAN Protocol )
    • Knowledge on Controllers, electrical machines, power converters, Sensors, Protective devices like Contactors, fuses, Circuit breakers, harness, and High Voltage components.
    • Ability to perform detailed calculations to compute and establish electrification standards and specifications.
    • Strong proficiency with verbal and written communication skills, analytical problem solving, and creativity.
    • Problem-solving ability, experience with standard analysis and reporting tools. Examples: (A3, 8D, DFMEA, Fishbone/5-whys etc.) is an advantage.
    • Ability to understand, condense, and organize information to make informed engineering decisions quickly and efficiently. 
    • Experience with product development phase/gate processes (NPD) process, 6 Sigma, are desirable.
    • Knowledge and experience of control systems and software testing and debug an advantage.
    • Capable of developing and executing test plans, interpreting test data, and developing and driving relevant corrective measures where necessary.  
    • Knowledge in PLM and Windchill is an advantage.
    • Proficiency with using electrical tools and instruments to perform tests, troubleshoot and gather data is expected
    • Self-motivated with strong relationship building and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams spread across multiple geographical regions
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and support multiple projects. History of delivering programs that meet QDC targets
