Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customers on defining electrified heating market requirements.
- Lead the development and execution of customized electrified heating products and systems per customer specifications and project requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, research and development experts, product managers, sales professionals, and customers to ensure the successful delivery of ETO projects.
- Conduct thorough technical and feasibility analysesis to evaluate customer requirements and provide engineering recommendations for product customization.
- Define project scopes, establish timelines, and allocate resources effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Guide design engineers and technicians in creating detailed engineering designs and prototypes for ETO projects, ensuring adherence to product specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Perform risk assessments for ETO projects, identifying potential issues or challenges and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful project completion.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulations related to electrification and heating systems, and integrate them into product designs and project plans.
- Provide technical expertise and support during the sales process by assisting product management and sales teams in understanding customer requirements and proposing appropriate ETO solutions.
- Partner with manufacturing to incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles into the product design.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to identify and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring the availability of necessary components and materials for customized projects.
- Monitor project progress, conduct regular reviews, and provide status updates to upper management, highlighting risks, challenges, and opportunities.
- Participate in industry conferences, market studies, and workshops to remain current on market trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or higher is preferred.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate interdisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Awareness and ability to interpret relevant industry standards and regulations, such as UL, IEC, ASME, and CSA, pertaining to heating systems.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
- Apply agile methodology in developing new equipment and system solutions.
- Experience entering an emerging market with a new solution.
- Entrepreneurial achievement inside a large corporation.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in engineering and project management in the heating, HVAC, or related industry.
- Experience developing Engineered-to-Order solutions.
- Proven track record of leading and successfully delivering complex projects related to electrified heating systems, including customization, prototype development, and production launch.
- Experience in designing and implementing innovative heating technologies and solutions, with a deep understanding of electrification trends, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
- Cradle to grave product development from concept to production, ideally for innovative products in new or emerging markets
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations and codes related to heating systems and electrification, including but not limited to ASME, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards.
- Experience with quality control processes and certification requirements, ensuring adherence to established quality standards throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Experience with risk assessment and mitigation strategies, including identification and resolution of technical challenges and obstacles during project execution
Base Compensation Range is $120,000 - $175,000. Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base salary range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
