Thermo King is hiring an Engineering Team Lead in Minneapolis, MN to support our North American products in improving Quality and Productivity. Our Engineering Team Lead is responsible for supporting operations through prioritization of requests and project management of assigned products and components, utilizing external resources effectively to meet project objectives for on-time delivery, quality, and cost targets. The Engineering Team Lead will also focus on building the team’s capabilities by driving schedules, meeting target dates, training and development, coaching on and improving Thermo King processes, and using root cause and problems solving tools.

Where is the work:
This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite a week) and will be based out of our Minneapolis, MN location.

 

What you will do: 

  • Lead cross-functional teams of design engineers, technicians, manufacturing engineers, product managers, and representatives from supply management, service, production planning, and others in the development of new products for Aftermarket and to execute Quality and Productivity Projects.
  • Coach team members through root cause analysis, developing technical risk assessments and utilizing tools for structured problem solving.
  • Manage projects (utilizing TTPDP and the BOS) to meet deliverables for time, quality, performance and cost, coordinating high level project plans, managing risk, and driving project success.
  • Coordinate resource requirements of department staff regarding platform projects and extensions, as well as customer service issues as they arise, and work with Manager and other Team Leads to prioritize overall requirements and shuffle resources accordingly.
  • Provide leadership stakeholders and project sponsors with appropriate, timely, and accurate updates of project status and plans—including monthly reports, Gate Review records, and resource requirements.
  • Maintain project management database with relevant and accurate documentation, information, and data.
  • Communicate effectively with teams and within management structure to facilitate workflow and resolve project barriers and issues.
  • Provide leadership to the staff—including assigning objectives and projects, evaluating performance, and providing positive and constructive feedback.  Working with the team(s) to foster a Winning Culture through career/development planning and initiatives that improve engagement and celebrate team accomplishments.

 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and at least 8 years’ experience in product design is required.
  • Master’s degree and/or people leadership experience is preferred.
  • Product design experience from concept to completion and oversight responsibilities in developing and executing validation test plans is required.
  • Demonstrated technical project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams toward identified goals.

 

Compensation: 

Annual Base Compensation: $105,500 – 140,000

Additional Compensation: Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
