Engineering Supervisor
Job SummaryTrane Technologies is hiring a Supervisor – Engineering in Grand Rapids, MI. In this role, you will lead a team of engineers and designers and be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, controlling, and directing activities of engineering resources with the goal of operational excellence and support of business strategies.
Work arrangement: Onsite
Responsibilities:
· Develops and leads a high-performing team of project engineers, designers, engineering interns, and project administrators through talent development
· Builds required capacity to engineer high quality projects on-time and on-budget
· Coordinates overall master schedule with the technical sales and production leaders
· Creates and communicates up-to-date schedules that provide effective direction for the team
· Implements design and build standards for engineering and operations
· Solves problems and leads continuous improvement projects
· Uses effective KPI metrics to measure team performance
· Fosters and promotes a collaborative, inclusive, and uplifting culture
Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, computer, or related engineering discipline
· Experience in leading an engineering team
· Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
· Knowledge and practical use of thermodynamics, machine design, materials science, and manufacturing processes
· HVAC design experience is a plus
· Knowledge of applicable safety and product performance regulations
· Experience leading DFMEA
· Experience with process improvement and LEAN manufacturing methodologies
