Field Service Representative
Job Summary:
Responsible for being the technical expert within the Distributors service team, advisor to distributors technicians, business partners & customers on all HVAC products, Service & Parts.
Responsibilities:
- Position requires extensive knowledge of air conditioning theory and practical experience coupled with extensive knowledge of HVAC service industry practices & related legislation including health & safety & environmental compliance.
- Responsible for the training and development of service technicians who perform the repair/retrofit/ replacement/ maintenance/start-up/in warranty service/general service of customer’s HVAC equipment & systems in order to build strong, effective and high performing teams
- FSR should execute hand-on & on-site trainings for Distributors engineers and technicians
- Develop training plan for Distributors service technicians based on results of assessment
- Works to a current and evolving action plan designed to identify & meet the training needs of Distributors technicians to meet Trane and Distributors HVAC solution requirements.
- Develop multiple relationships with key associates in the Trane manufacturing, training, technical service & sales groups.
- Provide knowledge & consultation in the form of developing HVAC system related solutions for technical problems to associates, customers & partners as required.
- Ensures DISTRIBUTORS are equipped in tools & specialist equipment necessary to provide right quality of HVAC services & meet all legislative requirements & makes recommendations for tool & specialist equipment purchases to DISTRIBUTOR service manager.
- Function as lead technical as on site troubleshooter when Distributors technicians are unable to solve specific problems – liaises with manufacturing on technical & quality issues.
- FSR should have experience, knowledge and skills in order to perform standard service technician activities by him/herself… (maintenance, repairs, advanced services, etc)
- Provide customer training & Distributors technician training on site as required.
- Must act as project manager on site for projects as dictated by business need & be prepared to work as lead technician to close out projects as required.
- Responsible for disseminating service bulletin’s, best practice, legislative, environmental & health & safety information to technicians, associates & customers when required.
- Manages productivity by generating parts reports and optimizing warranty cost.
