Trane has an exciting new opportunity for a Chiller technician based in Auckland with an original equipment manufacturer.  Trane is the exclusive manufacturer and service division for Trane equipment, with direct access to the Trane factory, technical literature, training and spare parts.  The future for Trane is moving forward with new products and superior technical service for our customers.

 

This role is a full-time permanent position with a guaranteed 40 hours per week.

 

Reporting to the Technical Coordinator, your role is to provide exceptional support as part of a team of professional service technicians, responsible for carrying out operational, maintenance and repair works on commercial Chillers and HVAC equipment across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. 

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Carry out planned and unplanned service, maintenance and commissioning of all types of Trane chiller and heat pump equipment, air handling units and unitary air conditioning systems.

  • Accurate and timely completion of required paperwork related to work performed

  • Participate in the after-hours standby duty roster.

  • Fostering and maintaining professional working relationships amongst technicians and apprentices and continually demonstrating the ability to work within pairs and smaller teams

  • Comply with all safety, company and statutory policies and procedures at all times.

  • Actively participate in all company-facilitated training and service meetings as required by the company

  • As required by the company, facilitate on-site training for other technicians/apprentices as well as supervise work performed by an allocated apprentice.

  • Quote and bring new client leads for small service repairs

 

To be successful in this role ideally you will have

  • 5 Years experience/exposure to commercial HVAC Chillers

  • Valid full Driver's License (due to company insurance requirements)

  • Experience in A/C maintenance and Installations of all types

  • Good time management and customer service skills

  • Due to a number of our clients being in correctional or educational facilities all applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment police vetting check under VC 2014

  • Technical competence

  • Ability and confidence to work alone and in a team environment

  • Positive and proactive approach to safety

  • Hourly rate will be between $40 and $55 per hour with overtime paid at time and a half
