Job Summary:
Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an onsite position in our Engineering Test Laboratory (Lab) in La Crosse, Wisconsin as an Instrument and Metrology Technician. This position provides technical support to advance measurement capability and data quality, for the NA Commercial HVAC Laboratories. As part of the Laboratory Instrument and Metrology Services (IMS) Team, you will work closely with all other Lab Teams to fully comply with all UL and ISO regulatory agencies. The job requires problem solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration with other lab and engineering team members to ensure timely completion of projects. This position is salaried non-exempt.

Where is the work:
This position has been designated as On-Site.
- Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Install, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various types of electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical instrumentation
- Apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate devices in the electrical, electronic, dimensional, physical, mechanical, and/or environmental disciplines to ensure measurement accuracy
- Identify and utilize appropriate measurement procedures and technical manuals
- Provide technical assistance on instrumentation related issues to customers and team members
- Work closely with customers to coordinate and execute periodic maintenance and calibration
What you will bring:
- Associate degree in Electromechanical, Electronics, Welding, Machining, or 2-year equivalent degree program at an accredited school. Work experience will also be considered.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
- A working knowledge, or wiliness to learn of measurement and control equipment (electrical, electronic, and pneumatic), data acquisition, and communications
- Experience or a willingness to learn ISO 17025 & ANSI/NCLS Z540
- Ability to understand and follow current work instructions and applicable test standards
- Ability to help solve practical problems and deal with a variety of complex variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in order to listen and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees in the organization
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced team environment
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with organizational skills, able to build cross-functional partnership while understanding the importance of putting the customer first
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $46,000-$87,000
