This role will support Trane Technologies’ HVAC equipment and supply Regional Distribution Centers (RDCs) in St Peters, Missouri.  The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and controls in the RDCs, supporting inventory values of more than $150 million with revenues of more than $1 billion.  Analysts work with site leadership and use Lean practices and MDI to drive improvement around all inventory control related functions.

The Inventory Control Analyst manages the site’s cycle counting program and ensures its consistent operation in accordance with Trane Technologies’ BOS.  Sites meeting cycle counting targets may be granted a physical inventory exemption (PIE).  For sites without a PIE, the Analyst is responsible for planning, set up and execution of the annual physical inventory.

Other responsibilities include reporting, data analysis, transactional research to correct and find root causes of inaccuracies and acting as a first point of contact for teams across the business on inventory related issues.  All Analysts will complete 9 step problem solving and Lean training courses and implement these practices into their everyday work.

Where is the work:  

  •  

  • From Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. On Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires. The Company has designated this role as safety sensitive.

What you will do:   

 

  • Assist site level leadership in maintaining inventory accuracy in RDC warehouses, using Lean and MDI as principal drivers for addressing and correcting inventory inaccuracies. 

  • Manage and ensure successful execution of Trane Technologies’ cycle counting program within BOS and department standard work and LOA structure. 

  • Assist with planning and facilitation of annual warehouse physical inventory (PI). 

  • Daily problem resolution with site inventory teams to reconcile all non-confirming inventory. 

  • Research and correct all inbound shipping errors from factories and suppliers, use corrective transactions to adjust inventories accordingly. 

  • Research and correct all outbound shipping errors to customers and DSO warehouses, use corrective transactions to ensure proper billing and inventories. 

  • Process scrap transactions and track warehouse completion of scrap within approved timeframe, ensuring compliance with scrapping policies. 

  • Provide support to teams across the business by working emails in the team’s shared mailbox pertaining to various inventory related issues. 

  • Participate in problem solving activities (9 steps, JDIs and A3s) to help drive continuous improvement across site operations. 

  • Update team MDI board and participate in weekly MDI discussions. 

  • Participate in daily warehouse MDI calls. 

  • Ensure timely movement of inventory for on-hold product to non-reservable status (as needed). 

  • Monitor transactional statuses in Oracle and work with sites to resolve pending errors. 

  • Maintain site-level item attributes to ensure correct storage and handling within the warehouse. 

  • Establish and maintain professional and courteous relationships with Distribution Leadership Team, DC Operations Leaders, warehouse and factory personnel. 

  • Additional requirements for the Supply-only Analyst include: monitoring inventory discrepancies and pending transactions between Oracle and third-party operating systems; performing transactions in Oracle to close out customer claims and external inventory transfers; ensure B2B orders stay linked through completion by ensuring proper item attribute settings. 

  • Any other tasks as assigned by the Material Control Manager. 

 

What you will bring:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of inventory/order management or customer service experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively through email, in writing, and orally. 

  • Ability to work in and enhance a team environment. 

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems. Oracle R12 a plus.

  • Experience Microsoft Office programs especially Excel

  • Ability to work minimum 2-3 weekends each fall for annual physical inventories; other overtime may be required throughout the year as/if needed. 

  • Ability to travel occasionally for audits, PI and site visits (travel up to 5-10%).

Compensation:   

Pay Range: $45,000 - $65,000. This role is overtime eligible.
