This role is 60% user experience research/analysis, and 40% experience strategy, with opportunities to apply interaction design skills if you have them.

Where is the work:  

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week. 

 

What you will do:   

•    Partner with Product Management and Strategic teams to identify and deliver actionable, high-value research insights.
•    Plan and conduct user research as an input into both experience strategy and project execution.
•    Analyze, synthesize, interpret, and explain research results.
•    Prepare and deliver easy-to-understand, well-designed research plans and findings tailored to a variety of audiences.
•    Plan and facilitate workshops with key stakeholders to gather information and insights. Help drive to consensus. 
•    Document and communicate outcomes in a clear, effective, and visually appealing manner.
•    Actively lead and collaborate in discussions and working sessions with cross-functional groups
•    Evangelize and advocate for user research, user-centered design philosophy, and XD/research best practices.
•    Mentor team members in the art of research, strategy, and testing.
•    Propose design direction and guide designers as they develop high-fidelity designs and prototypes.
•    Lead in the creation and maintenance of a research repository.
•    Work independently under general prioritization and guidance of the XD Director.
•    Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

What you will deliver:
•    Strategic and Tactical Research Proposals/ Plans
•    Research Results/ Analysis Presentations and Leave-Behinds
•    Personas and Journey Maps
•    Storyboards and Research Roadmaps

 

What you will bring: 

•    Minimum 7+ years in a user experience role, including XD research and XD strategy
•    Degree in Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Human Computer Interaction or similar field 
•    Experience planning, conducting and summarizing user research and design workshops
•    Experience with tools such as dscout, Qualtrics, or Miro
•    Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
•    Strong presentation skills, including preparing presentations and presenting them to various local and remote audiences
•    Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
•    Strong consultative skills, capable problem-solving abilities, and ability to build consensus
•    Willingness to travel, as needed, to conduct user research

•    HVAC and or manufacturing industry experience
•    Experience with web and mobile design in an agile environment
•    Comfortable working with research and design agencies
•    Creating and testing Information architectures & Micro-copy
•    Working knowledge of interaction and information design best practices
•    Experience testing with Figma, Axure, Balsalmiq, or other wireframing and interactive prototyping tools
•    Experience leading or managing researchers and/or designers
•    Quantitative research skills

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $140,000 - $180,000 

 

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
