Lean OpEx Technician
POSITION SUMMARY
· Will often be working with operators to turn improvement ideas into safe, workable, solutions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage multiple MDI boards
· Coach MDI team lean to back to basics
· Lead execution and coaching of visual workplace through 5S process (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) across all work areas in value stream
· Conduct cycle time analyses, time studies, line balance improvements, workplace analysis and improvement projects.
· Work with necessary site personnel to identify, address, and eliminate process related obstacles.
· Assist in the change of systems and processes in support of Lean initiatives
· Participate in or co-facilitate projects, RIEs and “just do-it’s”
· Provide necessary training specific to Lean Transformation tools and methodology (under the guidance of the Value Stream Coach).
· Help update and maintain visual performance tools, including mission control and MDI boards
· Following up on action plans including box 7 actions to assist and track closure
· Assist teams as needed to ensure improvements are made and sustained
· Create and implement standard work, and teach/coach line leaders to do the same
· Implement / coach the use of cell control boards and other visual management tools
· Assist operations in problem solving issues affecting takt attainment
· Support communication of the direction of Lean Transformation and daily management initiatives to employees
· Drive OpEx culture change through coaching of employees and leaders to drive lean behaviors, and follow the principles and practices of OpEx
· Production and Processing – Basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality controls, costs, and other elements associated with an effective manufacturing system.
· Safety/Ergo – Strong working knowledge of Trane/OSHA safety rules & ergonomic guidelines
· Leadership – previously demonstrated ability to facilitate safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity and/or training objectives resulting in improved operations and/or employee relationships.
· Critical Thinking – above average demonstrated use of logic in understanding and solving problems
· Creative Thinking – ability to look at problems from many angles to find simple, effective solutions
· Self-starter – takes the initiative to identify & drive improvement.
Base Pay Range (for Colorado Residents): $24.99 – 29.32 (Minimum to Max)
