Position Overview

Under the direction of the Value Stream Coach, this position is responsible for helping drive continuous improvement in overall operations through the implementation of lean transformation and daily management initiatives. This role is a discretionary twelve month placement as part of the Lean Tech rotational program.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Train and coach, all Lynn Haven employees on lean tools and processes.
  • Support Kaizen events comprised of multi-functional team members.
  • Lead execution and coaching of visual workplace organization through 5S process (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain).  
  • Work with necessary site personnel to identify, address, and eliminate process related obstacles.
  • Assist in the change of systems/processes as required in support of the Lean initiatives.
  • Participate in, co-facilitate or facilitate projects, RIEs and “just do it’s”.
  • Provide necessary training specific to Lean Transformation tools and methodology (under the guidance of the Value Stream Coach).
  • Help update and maintain visual performance tools, including mission control and MDI boards.
  • Assist all teams as needed to ensure improvements are made and sustained.
  • Create and implement standard work and teach/coach line leaders to do the same.
  • Implement and coach line leaders and team members on the use of cell control boards and other visual management tools.
  • Lead the Team Leader and assembly personnel through the Problem-Solving Process to improve the process and better serve their customer.
  • Assist operations in problem solving issues affecting TAKT attainment.
  • Perform cycle time analysis (value-add/non value-add) and collect cycle time data
  • Resolve issues after Rapid Improvement Events (RIE) to achieve desired state.
  • Support communication of the direction of Lean Transformation and daily management initiatives to employees.

Requirements:

  • Ability to coach all levels at Trane Lynn Haven from assembly personnel to plant leadership
  • Self-motivated
  • Basic understand of Lean Principles
  • Viewed as a credible leader or influencer of change
  • Knowledge of Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • 2+ years manufacturing experience
  • High School graduate or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
