Maintenance I - 2nd shift

Job Summary:
Supports the production environment with simple repairs, building maintenance, and commonly occurring maintenance issues that require minimal training at the Vidalia, GA location.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a proactive working environment through ongoing communication with Production associates.
2. Supports the production environment with simple repairs, building maintenance, and commonly occurring maintenance issues that require minimal training.
3. Performs preventative maintenance and other maintenance issues that require basic skills and problem solving
4. Can replace HVAC filters and perform minor HVAC work.
5. Order replacement parts and replace simple building components.
6. Simple carpentry work that supports building repairs
7. Supports Trane Vidalia’s goals of Safety, Quality, and Teamwork to achieve overall success of Trane.
8. Must be flexible to meet the needs of the company. This includes daily, off-shift work, weekends, shutdowns, and holidays. Must also have flexibility to adjust work hours on short notice and willingness to be on-call if the need arises.
9. Communicate issues to and from Production Teams and the OFT Process Team.
10. Provides and is responsible for his or her own hand tools.
11. Ongoing training/development as needed and/or required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED
· 0-4 years’ experience in the maintenance field.
· Strong Leadership and communication (written, oral interpersonal) skills.
· Team Player: must be able to foster a team environment and support team goals
· Knowledge of HVAC systems.
· Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment with little or no supervision
· Ability to work with various hand tools such as drills, saws, hammers, etc.
· Ability to maintain pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, required.
· Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and precision instruments (e.g. micrometers, calipers)
· Ability to run low voltage circuits in accordance with national electrical codes
· Ability to troubleshoot low voltage control circuits
· Possible certification required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Perform tasks requiring hand and eye coordination, with good hand dexterity (gripping and pinching repetitively) for more than 2/3’s of work shift
· Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 10 pounds continuously, 25 pounds repetitively and 50 pounds occasionally. Lifting or carrying objects over 50 pounds requires a two person lift, or a lift assist
· Bend, twist, squat, kneel, and/or stoop repetitively 6 to 8 hours per day
· Reach overhead repetitively for more than 2/3’s of work shift
· Stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours per day
· Climb up and down stairs up to 3 hours per day
· Use of senses to detect quality defects and unsafe conditions
· Moderate physical exertion
