Position Description

·       The Maintenance Technician Apprentice Program combines both academic studies and on-the-job training to develop the fundamentals required to become a skilled Maintenance Technician with Trane Technologies.

·       Specific program details will be available during the interview process.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Safely perform troubleshooting and repairs on a variety of production machinery
  • Effectively follow procedures to execute preventative and predictive maintenance
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a team environment

·       Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, cleaning, and lubrication of machinery and equipment.

·       Support the maintenance team in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.

·       Learn to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

·       Help maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and time spent on tasks.

·       Participate in preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.

·       Assist in the installation and set-up of new equipment and machinery.

·       Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

·       Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

·       Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.

Education, Experience & Skills

·       High school diploma or equivalent.

·       Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills.

·       Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

·       Ability to work well in a team environment.

·       Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.

·       Familiarity with hand and power tools.

·       Basic knowledge of safety practices and procedures.

Physical Requirements

·       Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally, including the telephone.  Mobility within the work facility. 

  • Ability to stand / walk 8 – 10 +Hours 
  • Ability to bend, lift, reach and turn throughout the shift
