Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op

Job Summary：

The Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op position at Thermo King in Minneapolis, MN offers college students an opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of engineering. As a Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op, you will be responsible for supporting various projects and initiatives, providing valuable contributions to our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement waste elimination projects in manufacturing areas.
• Create and maintain standard work procedures, ensuring efficiency and consistency in our operations.
• Contribute to manufacturing process improvement projects, utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and quality.
• Participate in industrial engineering studies and value stream capability studies to identify areas for optimization.
• Assist in the preparation and justification of capital equipment expense requests.
• Support manufacturing process automation and systems integration projects to enhance operational efficiency.
• Analyze data related to manufacturing and warehouse operations, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Assist in conducting process risk assessments for quality, ergonomics, and safety, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
• Contribute to energy audits, identifying opportunities for energy savings and implementing sustainable practices.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, either through academic or extracurricular activities.
• Resilient and adaptable, able to effectively handle changing priorities and tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Previous experience in manufacturing or engineering is a plus, but not required.
