Job Summary

Join Trane Technologies as a Manufacturing Engineer in Charlotte, NC at our Compressor & Motor Remanufacturing Facility. In this role, you will operate innovative engineered systems and develop, coordinate, and implement sustainable manufacturing production processes. Your cross-functional team will be focused on delivering quality, safety, and operational efficiency improvements.

What you will do:

Works with compressor engineering as needed and performs research to determine motor configurations for remanufacturing.

Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods for Trane Hermetic motors.

• Provide timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems, including investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning.

• Create cost-effective and safe manufacturing processes, equipment, and tools to improve manufacturing operations.

• Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality in accordance with Lean principles.

• Uphold manufacturing standards including machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings, and cycle times.

 • Generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs.

 • Serve as a voice of the customer for input for new design development.

• Partner with on-site EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).

Identifies needs and proposes elements to be included in the annual Capital Plan and coordinates implementation of projects in the facility.

What we expect of you:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

• Degree preferred in Engineering or related technical disciplines

• Ability to accurately assess manufacturing issues related to process and design

• Effective communication at multiple levels coupled with ability to build relationships

• Growth mindset – desire to expand technical skillset

• Results-driven to maintain accountability and customer-focus

• PFMEA experience preferred

Experience with MS Office (primarily Excel) is required.

Experience with Oracle, Windchill, AutoCAD, or Inventor preferred

Previous experience with electric motors and compressors is highly desirable
