Job Summary:
Trane Technologies is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor in Grand Rapids, MI. In this new role, you will lead a team of manufacturing engineers, manufacturing technicians, and machine maintenance personnel to support manufacturing systems and operations.
Where is the work:
This position has been designated as On-Site in Grand Rapids, MI. Sponsorship is not offered for this role.

What you will do:
- Mature the manufacturing engineering team into a high performing, diverse team through talent development
- Ensure manufacturing execution system (MES) is aligned with the needs of manufacturing operations
- Develop and define concepts and manufacturing processes for, and as an integral part of, all new product introductions and product enhancement programs, using advanced engineering techniques such as DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturability and Assembly), FMEA, 3P (Production, Preparation Process), 7-Ways, Lean Six Sigma Methodology, Kaizen leadership/support, project planning, and standard work development
- Assumes responsibility for Capital planning, CER creations and Approvals, Capital Project Timing and Implementation, Capital Spending and Budgeting/ Assumes responsibility for Plant VA/VE Savings
- Drives engineering principles and discipline through mentoring, training and project reviews including: PFMEA, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Dynamic Control Plans (DCP), Lean Tools, Project Management and Simultaneous Engineering
- Uses effective KPI metrics to measure team performance
- Fosters and promotes a collaborative, inclusive, and uplifting culture
What you will bring:
- Bachelor of Science Degree required
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Experience with process improvement and LEAN manufacturing methodologies
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; analytical; process driven
- Experience leading PFMEA
- Experience with project management
