The Materials Project Manager drives project execution, change management and process improvement in a production/ warehouse environment. The Materials Project Manager is responsible for leading and providing support to project teams resulting in change management activities within new product introductions, material functional projects, productivity, etc. as assigned. In addition, they will coordinate the implementation of initiatives and solutions as governed by the BOS (Business Operating System) and support in the setting up of new items on the factory floor for material flow and warehouse infrastructure.

Where is the work:  

This position has been designated as full-time, On-Site at our Newberry, SC plant and is considered safety-sensitive.

What you will do:   

New Product Introductions  

  • ·       Lead new product introductions with new supplier onboarding, determining material planning parameters, packaging & delivery requirements, storage plan and material delivery to line.
  • ·       Perform timely, cost-conscious procurement of production/inventory/MRO items by receiving and analyzing requisitions as related to the project.
  • ·       Collaborate with project teams to mitigate obsolete and slow-moving inventory (OSMI) risks by creating a robust phase-in phase-out (PIPO) plan and implementing an effective change timeline
  • ·       Ensure that ABC classification is up-to-date and maintained for planning, and other key inputs into the plan-for-every-part (PFEP) process
  • ·       Analyze and select parts for Kanban and Supplier replenishment.

Material Functional Projects:

  • ·       Drive lean transformation by supporting and leading A3 Projects and Kaizen that focus on Materials functions, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
  • ·       Maintain PFEP and item master information based upon process improvements, current constraints, total current demand by product family, and priority information.
  • ·       Develop solutions during change management programs for delivery of required parts to and from production areas (Warehouse storage, Supermarket, Tugger delivery routes)
  • ·       Implement visual management systems (5S, standard work, prima locations, etc) in support of assigned change management projects
  • ·       Ensure compliance to BOS (Business Operating System) and standard work during change management phases and recommend modifications where needed.
  • ·       Ensure adherence to safety regulations and procedures throughout the project phase
  • ·       Support change management project teams to develop project deliverables, resources required, detailed implementation actions, and launch containment plans
  • ·       Use TT-BOS to develop, implement, and drive adherence to various materials standard work
  • ·       Coach Material personnel on the various aspects of inventory management
  • ·       Perform other duties as assigned

What you will bring: 

  • ·       Education: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience of 7+ years is required
  • ·       Experience: 3-5 years’ industry experience in material planning, inventory, or related fields preferably in a lean manufacturing, industrial or warehousing environment.
  • ·       Technical: Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project).
  • ·       Analytical: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to transform raw data using Data visualization tools (e.g., MS Office, Tableau, Dataiku) to make informed decisions.
  • ·       Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to engage individuals across various levels within the organization
  • ·       Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintain a team-oriented environment and drive results.
  • ·       Detail oriented: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in managing materials and project documentation.
  • ·       Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a high pressure, fast-paced environment.

 

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $ 75,000-100,000/annually
