Our team drives business growth by providing customers and parts stores the documents required to quickly and efficiently identify Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts for Heating Ventilation and Cooling (HVAC) Equipment. This role is responsible for maintaining the product documentation (setup) for service parts sold through our Parts Channels as well as the creation and maintenance of the documentation (parts list) for all Trane Technologies brands and several sourced products.  Product documentation includes collecting, analyzing and interpreting requests for item setups and changes.  
This position leads cross functional teams to provide part availability and provides customers with the ability to identify Service Parts through graphics and bill of materials documentation. This role requires analytical, business, and technical skills to assess each project and determine what actions need to be taken.  The specialist will work with other Engineering, Purchasing and Customer Service Teams to develop plans in accordance with a specific project/request.
Typical functions of this position include, but are not limited to, defining item attributes in Windchill and Oracle. This includes bill of material maintenance/creation and change control procedures. Coordinates/monitors all changes to assure they are completed, and the original requestors are notified. Checks finished work for quality and accuracy.  Work is performed in an engineering environment using computer tools and product knowledge.  Due to the wide variety of systems and item setup configurations, the MDM Support Specialist must demonstrate great versatility, adaptability, and organizational skills.  It requires individuals to work independently to make strategic decisions in a team environment.

Where is the work: 

 

Remote in geography: 

This position has been designated as Remote within a geography.

What you will do:   

Primary focus of this position is to support the business growth strategy through a broad range of technical knowledge not only of product, but also of parts processing through our many systems.
•    Create and maintain documentation (part setups) for Trane Technologies brands. 
•    Lead cross functional aftermarket team to implement plant driven design changes and support projects lead by Program Managers for New Product Development projects.
•    Ensure that documentation and production projects meet established deadlines.
•    Analyze design changes based on business requirements and set work direction that supports the product management.
•    Participate as an active member in the design change control process for multiple Plants located across North America.
•    Interface with teams across all products, Strategic Business Unit's, and Manufacturing Plants, as well as multiple time zones and global regions.
•    Become a service part expert with several product lines within the HVAC equipment portfolio.
•    Oversee the parts documentation process for all projects within the SBU and support cross-functional teams to provide part availability and to enable customers to order service parts through all business systems/channels. 
•    This role requires analytical, business, and technical skills to assess each project and determine what actions need to be taken to ensure the item master files are current and effective control is maintained over all controlled documents, records, and parts. 
•    Must be able to work independently while keeping supervision and management informed of project status.

 

What you will bring: 

•    5+ years with a Bachelor’s degree desired – preferably in Engineering, Software and other tool automation.  10+ year experience with Associate’s degree will also be considered.
•    Experience and knowledge of HVAC SBU business systems, including but not limited to Oracle12, Windchill and Microsoft programs including Project - preferred.
•    Must have good understanding of engineering design material flow in a distribution network
•    Strong organization, planning and execution skills required, with an attention to detail orientation.
•    Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
•    Strong problem solving and conflict management skills.
•    Ability to effectively interact with cross-functional disciplines and within team settings.
•    Ability to work independently to make strategic decisions in a team environment.
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities at once through strong organizational skills.
•    Exhibit exceptional project management skills. 
•    Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to work as team member or leader. 
•    Travel up to 15% to visit manufacturing sites.
•    Automation driven/background is a plus.

 

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: From $55,000 - $65,000 based on experience  

 

Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
