Job Summary:

Trane Key Accounts is hiring an Equipment Estimator to join our Mission-critical sales team. In this role, you will be closely interacting with the Equipment Account Manager (s), other assigned project managers and suppliers to ensure timely completion of assigned estimates. Responsibilities include technical selection and pricing of equipment for each project. Must be able to provide estimating support to the equipment sales team.

What you will do:   

  • Responsible for reviewing Plans & Specifications and developing cost estimates, ensuring the accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc. of Trane materials, sub-contractors, non-Trane purchased equipment, labor (start-up, service work, etc.), and other construction-related activities to assist Account Managers in bidding projects.    
  • Provides knowledge and consultation in the form of developing facility-related solutions for the customer’s problems.  
  • Creating detailed cost estimates, scope definitions, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposals, vendor/sub-contractor quotes, and points lists.
  • Determines project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet the entire customer’s HVAC system design and installation requirements. 
  • Develops, evaluates, and discusses possible solutions with the Account Manager, Project Manager, Subcontractor, Supplier, and/or customer.
  • Managing bid forms and Trane equipment selections and estimates.
  • Coordinating with the regional office regarding service estimates (start-up, service work, etc.).
  • Coordinates selection, pricing, and integrates equipment, controls, and services for each project.
  • Prepares, finalizes, and reviews preliminary and/or final proposals. Prepares equipment submittals and validates equipment selection.
  • Pricing purchased equipment to ensure accuracy in quantity, size, configuration, options, etc.
  • Identifying potential cost-saving opportunities and risk items.
  • Assist the Account Manager determine proposal price, selling strategy, and developing project fulfillment schedule with the project team. 

 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or business management preferred with a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in estimating, project management, engineering, HVAC, or construction management; or equivalent combination of education and industry-related experience.
  • Strong communication skills, proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven experience prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines within a high-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Familiarity with the operation of HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred.
  • Familiar with the development and execution of sales plans and programs and in dealing with large, multi-territorial, complex accounts highly preferred.
  • Experience in working effectively with an extended team.
  • Must have good computer skills required; proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access) Salesforce experience preferred.

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $70,750 - $111,000

 

This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic, experience, and location where the work is performed. Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan.
