The Portfolio Leader will manage the Data Center product lines of Trane's commercial Airside equipment offering within the Americas Commercial HVAC sector. This role will be fully responsible for – and accountable to – meeting or exceeding Trane Technologies’ revenue growth targets, maintaining or growing market share, while expanding margin. You will be responsible for leading a dedicated team to develop product strategies/roadmaps, managing the products throughout their lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver growth. 

  

Seeking a high-energy, results and data driven individual with knowledge of commercial services delivery, capable of collaborating with cross-functional leader to drive business results. The ideal candidate is a proactive and analytical professional with strong communication skills and knowledge of Trane’s Airside Data Center business. 

  

This role will report directly to the Airside Portfolio Director, with a dotted line to the CHVAC Data Center organization. This role will sit in Davidson - NC, Columbia- SC, Greenville - SC or a virtual work arrangement may be considered.

Where is the work:  

From Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. On Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires  

  

What you will do:   

 

  • Lead a Product Growth Team (PGT) made up of Product Management, Engineering, and Operations, and focused on driving profitable share growth 

  • Drive profitable growth by optimizing balance between deep customer and market understanding with the technological capability and competitive advantage our business has to offer now, and in the future 

  • Develop and present new business opportunities across multiple time horizons including outsized capacity expansion, strategic technology roadmap, overall partner/business strategy, investments/payback, and mobilizing appropriate resource commitments. 

  • Lead the team through the product line review process to ensure that the gaps in the portfolio are well understood, develop plans to address those gaps and ensure all categories and products are being managed throughout the product lifecycle.  

  • Collaborate across organization to create a customer-oriented, robust and actionable strategic growth plan, global business strategy, and product roadmap. 

  • Provide leadership, talent development and coaching to a team of product management professionals. 

  • Provide strong influence to our Operations organization to drive efficient and effective execution to meet customer requirements and delivery schedules 

  • Determine pricing objectives, policies, and strategies. Ensure that the pricing strategy balances the need to increase market share and maximize profit margins, and ensure that it is consistent with the business strategy 

 

What you will bring: 

 

Professional Requirements 

  • 8+ years product management experience in technical, complex environment, a track record of success in the data center market is strongly preferred 

  • Strong overall business acumen, solid financial grounding and a clear understanding of how business operates. Excellent judgment and analytical ability to make recommendations/ decisions and to resolve complex issues in a timely manner. 

  • Best-in-class collaboration and communication skills with a demonstrated ability work effectively in a matrixed environment and interact/ influence all levels of the organization 

  • Passion for process improvement with change agent abilities. Able to coach and teach others how to use and apply the business operating system to improve their processes. 

  • Demonstrated leadership capability specifically in agility, decision making, adaptability, and taking calculated risks; experience managing people and/or influencing across functions.  These are critical capabilities to excel in this new start-up business unit.  

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is valued 

  • Up to 40% Travel Expected

  • Developer of talent and capabilities; great people leader. Ability to select and lead both people with deep expertise and people with breadth 

 

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $134,000-$235,500

 

Total Compensation for this role will also include an incentive plan.
