Job Summary:

We are looking for a Public Relations Manager who will lead and execute our public relations strategy for the Commercial HVAC business of Trane Technologies. The individual will implement strategies that build and protect our brand reputation and enhance our position as an industry leader - including thought leadership programs, reputation management activities, and media relations within the Americas.Reporting to the Communications Leader, Commercial HVAC Americas, this role will partner across communications, marketing, executives, and other functions to align public relations strategy with business growth objectives.

What you will do:

  • Develop and execute PR strategies to increase brand visibility, support business goals, and manage reputation.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing and communications teams to drive PR, thought leadership, and media engagement, positioning spokespeople for key opportunities.
  • Oversee external PR agencies, including planning, setting KPIs, and evaluating results across various channels, especially media relations.
  • Build and maintain strong media relationships, prepare executive spokespeople, manage messaging, provide media training, and handle all media inquiries and interview requests.
  • Support the planning, development, and execution of thought leadership content and opportunities in coordination with other teams and business leaders.
  • Create, edit, and manage content such as press releases, bylined articles, and materials for speaking engagements
  • PR Strategy: Translate business objectives into actionable PR plans, managing both internal and external agency resources.
  • Operational Excellence: Prioritize efforts effectively, manage capacity to deliver tactical execution of strategic plans to ensure successful outcomes, and drive operational effectiveness to achieve measurable results.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively within a matrixed organization, balancing the needs of various partners and stakeholders to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Strong business acumen and proven leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

What you will bring:

  • 10+ years of professional experience in communications/public relations, ideally within B2B brands.
  • Proven success in developing and executing PR programs within a global corporate environment.
  • Hands-on experience managing media relations, including building reporter relationships, pitching stories, and serving as a spokesperson.
  • Experience managing internal/external resources, agencies, and budgets.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Strong ability to partner, consult, and influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Skilled in building diverse, inclusive, and engaged teams, with a focus on coaching and talent development.
  • Skills & Attributes:
  • Effective balance of strategic thinking and practical execution to drive change and achieve results.
  • Strong presentation skills for communicating complex information to various audiences.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Creative and operational mindset with strong organizational, analytical, time-management, and project management skills.
  • Ability to think critically, establish strategic plans, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Results-oriented, self-driven, and internally motivated.

 

Travel: Flexibility to travel for media and speaking engagements as needed.

 

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $95,000 to $125,000

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, and geographic location where the work is performed.
