Job Summary:

The Parts Engineering & Analytics Leader will direct the Parts Engineering Unit responsible for lifecycle support and analytics of aftermarket parts.  This individual will be responsible for representing engineering on an assigned Product Growth Team and leading a team of engineers executing New Product Development, Quality, Productivity, Design-to-Order, and Sustaining Engineering projects.  This position will directly report to the Engineering Leader for the Supply Strategic Business Unit (SBU), which provides a complete selection of innovative parts, options and accessories for optimal performance and reliability supporting the Commercial and Residential HVAC markets in the Americas.

Product Growth Team (PGT) Responsibilities

  • Setting the direction and strategy for the assigned PGT in collaboration with the other PGT cross-functional members based on a deep understanding of customers, markets, and competitors.
  • Identifying and driving organizational alignment with a focus on engineering stakeholders and executing the critical actions and initiatives to achieve growth and margin expansion targets.
  • Collaboratively manage the value stream P&L; proactively reaching outside of the engineering function as required.
  • Lead the creation of clear customer-focused engineering requirements.
  • Support strategic analytics and planning activities to ensure engineering initiatives are aligned with PGT priorities, goals, and a prioritized project list.

Core Job Requirements:

  • Leadership, development planning, performance goals, employee engagement and salary planning responsibilities for the Parts Engineering team.
  • Exercises exceptional communication skills and be an effective team servant leader with a positive, enthusiastic attitude to uplift people within a technical engineering group.
  • Responsible for providing input into the development of the aftermarket engineering long range plan and annual operating plan to support the overall business strategy.
  • Lifecycle support, ensuring that the engineers provide support to ensure serviceable parts are available as new equipment programs are launched and through the entire service life.
  • Consistently demonstrate responsiveness to the customer (internal and external), and be quality minded in performance of all duties.
  • Lead, use, and influence with analytics to improve predictive analysis & Service bill of material (BOM) effectiveness, driving waste elimination across the entire lifecycle for parts.
  • Responsible for supporting the Supply SBU Quality Management System, collaborating with the ISC organization to drive the reduction of quality costs via a pipeline of engineering projects.
  • Responsible for supporting the development and maturity of Parts Circularity for the Supply Business Operating System, increasing the SBU contribution to the Gigaton Challenge.
  • Support OPEX transformation, including leading and coaching continuous improvement activities.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent technical degree), and a minimum of 15 years of engineering experience (design, AME, and/or quality engineering).
  • Advanced analytical skills are required with demonstrated management of large data sets using Tableau and Alteryx.
  • Experience required with Circularity principles (i.e., Repair, Remanufacturing, etc.) and analysis to identify areas for continuous improvement of part design.
  • 5+ years of People management experience is required.
  • 5+ years of Manufacturing/Operations/Operational Excellence experience is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience with AI, ML, and Analytical applications and tools is preferred.
