Quality Technician - 1st Shift
Job Summary:
The Quality Technician supports daily manufacturing operations by performing inspections, tests, and audits to ensure products meet established quality standards. Working on a Monday–Friday, 1st shift schedule, this role is responsible for identifying nonconformances, verifying corrective actions, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with company procedures. A key focus area for this position includes active involvement in MRB (Material Review Board) processes and managing NCM (Non‑Conforming Materials) activities, including root cause analysis, material recovery, and improvement actions generated from analytical reviews.
Responsibilities:
Key focus area will be MRB (material review board), NCM (non-conforming materials) root cause analysis, recovery, and improvements generated for analysis
Work with Process/Quality Engineers, Production Supervisor, and Team Leaders supporting line side MRB (material review board) and failures
Run weekly MRB reviews for each focus area with support from quality team and team leads
Analyze failure modes and support recovery efforts for recovery of failed MRB units
Work closely with Engineering, OpEx and Production Supervision on continuous improvement efforts
Collaborate with manufacturing and quality engineers to lead scrap reduction efforts and FPY improvement efforts.
Perform JBS (job breakdown sheets) and Standard Work audits to ensure safe and accurate completion of production activities for assigned area.
Identify and implement process improvement ideas
Plan & participate in quality initiatives
Will be available to work situational overtime for projects and team coverage, as the business requires.
Supports the QMS by delivering quality products and services and meeting quality objectives
Works to consistently meet and exceed customer requirements
Continuously strives for operational excellence and continuous improvement
Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirement is associates degree in electronics, electrical engineering, electrician, or related degree
Experience with Electronic Circuit Board troubleshooting is preferred.
Must have working knowledge in the use of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, and Outlook).
Lean fundamentals or green belt training considered a plus.
Must have demonstrated creativity and solid problem-solving skills.
Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and process documentation.
Must be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to effectively build relationships with employees at all levels.
Must have excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Must be flexible and able to work all hours including weekends and off shifts.
