This Refrigeration System Engineer will design and test Residential Air-Conditioner and Heat Pump systems as a member of a cross-functional development team.  This role requires a strong understanding of refrigeration systems and excellent collaboration skills.

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be required):

  • Complete mechanical and refrigeration system design and validation for assigned programs.
  • Utilize simulation tools and/or coordinate with other teams to optimize proposed designs as required.
  • Select components, develop and manage Bills of Material and system costs.
  • Responsible for ERPD release and change management.
  • Create and submit work requests for model build and testing and coordinate their timely completion; including optimizing test sequencing to maximize test facility throughput.
  • Complete required product agency compliance testing and listings (ARI, UL, CSA, etc.).
  • Identify and focus on the most critical issues to ensure timely solutions.
  • Interact with the factory on ERPD releases and VA/VE and quality issue resolution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering with at least 2 years of work experience in HVAC/R is required.
  • Ph.D. Degree in Engineering is preferred.

Key Competencies:

  • Technical knowledge of mechanical systems including system design and operation (HVAC design experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly troubleshoot, identify root cause and correct issues with mechanical systems and system data.
  • Learning agility and intellectual curiosity.
  • Experience with validation test plan development and execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage complex workflows.
  • Compelling verbal and written communication skills.
  • Results-oriented individual with an emphasis placed on achieving overall team performance.
