Job Summary:
 
Canada Payroll Support Lead will deliver support for our Canadian operations to implement and drive Trane Technologies Payroll Service strategies by providing payroll operation support, training, testing, project implementations and various data requests for audits and metrics. 
Responsibilities: 
  • Analysis of all incoming time information, input and balancing of payroll data.
  • Processes transactions and payroll files in coordination with third party vendors to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Coordinates and reviews third party remittances, including pension, taxes, workers compensation and union payments.
  • Audits pension contribution files and ensures demographic data changes are made in payroll and in recordkeeper's system.
  • Calculates vacation pay
  • Audits year-end tax forms
  • Tracks benefit, pension and union contributions for leave of absence payrolls
  • Audits and resolves payroll inquiries.
  • Creates documentation for new processes and accurately update existing documentation based on process enhancements.
  • Creates and provides recurrent Payroll/HR reports, metrics, and forecasting per customer and support requirements.
  • Resolves errors and issues that may arise with payroll disbursements, ensuring investigation of issues are coordinated between vendors, technical teams and Payroll groups. Supports root cause issue analysis.
  • Supports and executes activities related to the disbursement of payroll for all employees.
  • Assists auditors in annual pension audits, and other periodic government audits.
  • Collects, reviews, and initiates void or stop payments, and payment reissuance requests, as required.
  • Supports calculations related to pay adjustments, final paychecks, and pay differentials.
  • Performs any control self-assessments to ensure controls are regularly tested and in place for the processes, and are compliant with governmental and internal rules.
  • Ensure data is secure, accurate, and timely through communications, training, audits, mass data load processing and reporting, including ensuring SOX compliance, segregation of duties and security access.
  • Supports special business initiatives

Qualifications:
  • Associate, (preferred BS) in an Information Systems, HR, Finance or related
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years functional experience in Payroll and at least 3 years' experience working with PeopleSoft or other related HRMS systems (Oracle, SAP, Workday)
  • Experience with multi-province payrolls and related provincial legislations
  • Experience working with ADP platforms
  • Proficient using 3rd party reporting tools 
  • PeopleSoft/ Workday
  • Able to work on multiple projects with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage information in a confidential manner
  • Advanced level MS Office skills are required; including experience with SharePoint
  • Able to anticipate problems, respond accordingly, and work independently
  • Excellent follow-through, verbal and written communication skills
  • Payroll certifications- (PCP)- Payroll Compliance Professional - Preferred
  • Familiarity with Canadian tax laws 
    * Bilingual highly preferred

Base compensation for this role is $70,000-100,000.
