Senior Engineer - Product Engineering

We are looking for a talented product engineer to facilitate the design and manufacturing of our current & next line of exciting products. As a product engineer, you will be working closely with the design & CFT’s to create industry-relevant products that meet company specifications.
Senior Engineer - Product Engineering is a key member of the product engineering team in the company who will be responsible for executing critical product design improvement projects in the field of Refrigeration & Air Conditioning along with supporting diverse mixture of product development projects by applying engineering principles and technical rigor to develop solutions that satisfy product requirements, cost, quality, and schedule. Projects could be Productivity, Q&R, NPD, NTP type.
This individual will support cross-functional project teams to align product requirements, determine root cause of failure, develop solutions, direct validation activities, manage simple to complex projects or phases of a project to ensure the completion of milestones within budget & timeline.
Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):
- Understanding project requirements and work closely with cross functional teams across the globe for delivery of project responsibilities adhering to engineering standards & process.
- Solving complex technical problems in a structured approach using engineering problem solving tools.
- Understanding various task associated with different project phases plan, identify risk and develop mitigation plan for meeting QDC.
- Prepare, participate and present project gate meetings, critical design reviews, technical discussion with global cross functional team.
- Develop concepts, convert to detail design, develop component specifications, select components or to work with suppliers for development of the same.
- Manage projects following PLM process. Create and release of engineering documentation in PLM / PDM.
- Both domestic and international travel may be required. Estimated travel is 10%.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BE degree in Mechanical / Auto mobile/ Mechatronics engineering with good academics.
- 3 to 6 years hands on experience in component selection, system integration, concept development, design calculations, design engineering in the domain currently working.
Key Competencies:
- Good understanding of the basics of engineering.
- Demonstrates ability to get to root cause and to take effective action to solve problems. Hands on experience with problem solving tools.
- Hands on experience in DFMEA and test plan development.
- Exposure to prototyping and testing.
- Basic knowledge in refrigeration components & systems. Basic knowledge in electrical system & components would be an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge in understanding material properties for materials selection considering application requirements.
- Hands in experience in Pro E Modules – Part, surfacing, Sheet metal, tubing, Assembly (Top down and Bottom up) and Drawing.
- Good understanding of GD&T for design application considering manufacturing process & tooling limitations.
- Demonstrates innovation & initiative approach at work, ability to develop new methods and approaches.
- Fosters effective teamwork where people work together to achieve common goals. A strong team player that is capable of working with others.
- Excellent communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to communicate ideas and results in a clear and concise manner.
