Primary Skills:

 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of fans, motors, coils (CW & DX), filters, and heat recovery components.
  • Experience in product design, bill of materials, engineering specifications, and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience with DFMEA, DVP, and test plan development.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, CSA, ASHRAE standards, and product test labs (UL, ETL, AHRI).
  • Lead activities from concept generation, design, development, planning, risk assessment, design reviews and testing.
  • Drive VAVE/Q&R projects independently from scoping to closure.
  • Hands-on experience with Pro-E/Creo.
  • Lead product teardowns and idea generation sessions.
  • Utilize six-sigma, design for reliability, lean, and corrective action systems (FRACAS).
  • Carry out project activities with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fundamental understanding of HVAC technologies and components.
  • Efficiently organize information for quick and effective engineering decisions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

  • Work on NPD/VA-VE/Q&R projects to improve product performance and reduce costs.
  • Serve as project engineer and technical reference for Airside projects.
  • Participate in technical design reviews and ensure manufacturability.
  • Define and complete qualification testing activities.
  • Support factory problem resolution.
  • Lead concept generation, testing, analysis, and interface optimization.
  • Collaborate with design teams to create models, assemblies, and drawings.
  • Collaborate with advanced engineering teams with FEA & CFD modeling and CAE report analysis.
  • Manage various types of projects from initiation to closure.
  • Develop and improve tools and processes for HVAC component integration.
  • Perform engineering analysis to verify performance and reliability.
  • Plan and direct laboratory tests and supplier collaborations.
  • Drive standard work discipline through process development and documentation.
  • Lead project teams and work closely with global SMEs to deliver projects.
  • Identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Demonstrate innovation and initiative in work.

 

Key Competencies:

 

  • Design or application experience with HVAC products, especially air handling products and sub-components.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, HVAC/R fundamentals, and project management.
  • Experience with Pro-E/Creo
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Data analytics and programming knowledge is a plus.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5-7 years of experience in HVAC industry is required, specific to Air Handling Products.
