Where is the work:
 

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.  

As the Senior Manager, Commercial AHU NPD Engineering, you will lead our NPD and Fan Systems Engineering team that is responsible for concept development, design and design verification of New Products, product line updates and fan system engineering for all Airside product platforms.  Fan Systems engineering would involve the evaluation of new higher efficiency impeller designs and new motor technologies to improve system efficiency and provide best in class acoustical performance.  NPD programs under the management of this team range in size of one year, $1M projects to multiyear, multi-million-dollar projects.  This team is responsible for leading all major NPD programs in cooperation with other Airside development locations.  The product range covered by this team is as small as 200CFM terminal devices and as large as 200,000CFM custom AHU’s.

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):

  • Lead a team of Engineers that specialize in leading NPD programs and fan systems engineering.
  • Conduct new technology, productivity, and new product development projects to design new products or components and improve the function, reliability or cost of existing products and components.
  • Lead efforts to develop and improve tools and processes used for the design and integration of fan system components within our Commercial HVAC product lines.
  • Conduct thorough technical and feasibility analysis to evaluate customer requirements and provide engineering recommendations for product customization.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulations related to the design of commercial air handling equipment.
  • Perform and document engineering analysis required to design, verify performance, and reliability of HVAC components and products.
  • Participate in industry conferences, market studies, and workshops to remain current on market trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements.
  • Work effectively across functional lines (development, production, design, marketing, suppliers).
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and at least 8 years of engineering or product development work experience is required.
  • Master's Degree is preferred but not required.
  • Prior team/people management experience is required.
  • Project Management Professional certification preferred but not required.

  • Awareness and ability to interpret relevant industry standards and regulations, such as UL, IEC, ASME, and CSA, pertaining to HVAC products.
