Job Summary:

Sr. Business Analyst on the data foundation team at Trane Technologies plays a critical role in internal customer engagement. Data Foundation Team supports Trane’s Residential and Supply business units with the development of data products and help in various analytics needs of the business. We enable users to perform self-service analytics by empowering them with necessary data and tools to gain insights and develop future strategies for growth. We’re currently searching for an experienced business analyst to help guide our organization into the future. From collecting and documenting analytics requirements to engage with the stakeholders, our ideal candidate is a detailed planner, expert communicator, and top-notch analyst.

Responsibilities:
  • Elicit requirements for data products development across business functions and maintain them in standard document templates
  • Serve as thought leader for technical business processes, facilitating conversations for data ingestion and consumption patterns that promote increased efficiency and productivity on multiple levels
  • Create and implement management plans for every data & analytics project, with attention to transparent communication at all levels
  • Perform, evaluate, and communicate thorough quality assurance as needed at any stage of systems development
  • Partner with other stakeholder teams across business units (i.e., sales, finance, security, compliance) to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with production, managerial, and executive teams
  • Evaluate, analyze, and communicate systems requirements on a continuing basis, and maintain systems processes, including the delivery of project status reports to all appropriate parties
  • Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation
  • Support the SBU IT strategy and maintain a strong alignment with the business while delivering results for the site(s)
  • Identify opportunities for simplification and streamlining IT applications
  • Create design flows and narratives, assist developers with business understanding in their technical design;
  • Understand integrated business systems configuration options and tools
  • Update user training and documentation for specific business processes.
  • Lead user acceptance testing for the data products deployment process
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in IT or Computer Science, management information systems, finance, accounting, or related discipline required
  • Masters degree in related field preferred
  • 6+ years of proven experience in analytics and systems development capacity
  • High proficiency with SQL language and database management and data warehouse concepts
  • Proven analytical abilities
  • Practical experience generating process documentation and reports
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio and PowerPoint, JIRA and Confluence
  • Proven experience with Agile methodology working environment. Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience is preferred
  • Extensive experience with data visualization tools like Tableau & Google Looker
  • Highly proficient technical writing capabilities
  • Must have ability to work well in a team environment
  • Experience with cloud base technologies/platform such as AWS, Google Cloud, Dataiku, Collibra will be preferred

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $70,000 - $95,000

Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
