Responsibilities:
- Drive supplier performance that meets or exceeds quality goals established by the business.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and help resolve reported quality/performance issues with HVAC parts in the Supply Business.
- Facilitate containment and corrective action with suppliers to solve and prevent future failures.
- Perform analysis on failure data to drive continuous improvement activities with engineering teams and equipment business units.
- Manage customer quality complaints to resolution.
- Support new product and design change part approval through First Article Review, parts measurement, verification, and validation of test results
- Facilitate supplier deviation and design/process change requests
- Assist in developing processes to capture supplier performance data for the Supply Business.
- Create, review, and updating of APQP documentation based off historical supplier performance data.
- Coordinate with Quality team members in Distribution Centers to facilitate problem solving, root cause analysis, or provide technical explanations on systemic supplier quality issues.
- Support Non-Conforming Material reviews.
- Serve as project manager for any assigned projects.
- Create ad-hoc data queries to pull needed data.
- Travel to Supplier locations for on-site reviews, process audits, PPAP support, and Specific Supplier Development activities as needed.
- Work in cross functional Commodity Teams, Sourcing, Material Planning, Engineering other support functions.
- Provide Technical/Product knowledge support to distribution partners.
- Utilize structured problem-solving techniques
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Technology or related field
- 3+ years of quality management, product/process development, manufacturing and supply chain experience related to Advanced Quality Planning, Supplier Quality or Development.
- Lean Six Sigma, Black Belt is an advantage
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer an advantage
Key Competencies:
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft software programs, database programs, etc.
- Highly articulate verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple projects
- Ability to travel up to 20% as needed.
- Knowledge of various quality system methodologies; Lean, 5 Why's, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, etc. is a must.
- The individual should understand tolerance stack up analysis and layout.
- The individual should be able to read GD&T drawings and assist suppliers in interpretation of drawings.
- Skilled in investigation of root causes and driving implementation of corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints and internal issues.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, Order Management Systems and ERP systems a plus
- Desire to continually learn and expand knowledge base.
- Knowledge of UL, CE, and transportation regulations a plus
Salary: $82,000 - $109,000 base salary.
