Where is the work:
From Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. On Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.
This Systems Design Engineer will be a member of our Trane Commercial Systems organization and be responsible for all aspects of equipment design and component integration for the CenTraVac Chiller product line. This includes modeling system performance, innovating new technology for future products, validating ideas and system performance in the laboratory. This role interacts with other functional resource groups to support product design and integration, such as Compressor Engineering, Thermal Systems Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Manufacturing, etc.
What you will do:
- Apply engineering knowledge to perform Chiller Performance Modeling to simulate and predict unit performance.
- Chiller System Performance, Reliability, and Quality
- Conduct design FMEAs; develop and execute resulting risk mitigation plans.
- Support sales order attainment by providing custom design modifications.
- Support field and factory system problem resolution.
- Overnight travel will be required; less than 10%.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline.
- At least 2-years of work experience supporting system and subsystem product designs, validation testing and root cause analysis.
- Proven success in helping conduct new technology and new product development projects to improve the function, reliability, or cost of products and components.
- Understanding of HVAC system including refrigeration, heat transfer and airflow.
Salary Range: $72,000 - $125,000 annually
