Job Summary:
The Team Lead for Expense Accounting will report to Accounting Leader, Expense and will play an important role in supporting the establishment of and being a key team member of the Expense Accounting team at the India Shared Services Center based in Bangalore, India. The Team Lead- Expense accounting will lead EMEA Expense team and support the migration of expense accounting activities throughout EMEA to the India Shared Service Center.
The position will require significant process expertise related to shared service center operations. This
leader will coach and develop a team of professional accountants focused on accounting support in the areas of:
· Payroll & incentives accounting
· Prepayments & corporate accruals
· Professional & IT costs
· Advertising & marketing costs
· Facility costs
· Goods received not invoiced accruals.
· Corporate regional and BU allocations
The position will require extensive business partnering with our business units and effective communication across functions and with senior finance management and global operations.
Responsibilities:
This Expense Team lead will be responsible for the operations of the expense accounting team (EMEA)
including continuous improvement of processes and internal controls as well as contributing to the overall vision for Company’s shared services evolution.
· Lead the EMEA expense accounting team in the India Shared Service Center including hiring and training staff, implementation of standard business processes and governance for identified processes in-scope as documented in our finance blueprint.
· Manage the transition of expense accounting finance processes from the local finance teams in Ireland (and other locations as required) to the India Shared Service Center.
· Manage performance to targeted Global Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to align with delivery of desired service level to the business.
· Manage staff in accordance with Company policies and applicable local legislation, including planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems.
· Integrate expense accounting finance processes of new acquisitions into the India Shared Service Center.
· Work closely with teams across the shared services organization and in the business lines to identify and implement opportunities for efficiencies (including the ERP IT team).
· Manage ongoing expense accounting finance operations while also taking on ad hoc projects.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with a CPA or Chartered Accountant certification or other similar qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years of experience in global shared service center environment / leadership role.
- Knowledge of financial systems skills and reporting tools (experience with PeopleSoft a plus).
