Position Summary:

He/She will be responsible for the design and development of Electrical systems for HVAC, compressor products. This person should have a minimum of 11+ years’ experience in electrical design engineering. Developing team, competencies, and skillset in Electrical, Electronics and Power Electronics by initiating and doing strategic projects, Proof of Concepts, and identifying newer opportunities to the team. Supporting team on troubleshooting and resolving control system issues, as well as documenting design processes and test procedures.

New Technology Projects (NTP), New Product Development, Productivity (VAVE), Q&R

  • Develop products by studying customer requirements and criteria
  • Proficient in Electrical Component Specifications, Selection, Analysis, Testing (Functional & Reliability) of followings:
  • Electrical Components: Contactor, Relay, Primary and Secondary Protection devices, Transformer
  • LV Motors (AC Induction, Brush DC, BLDC, Stepper, Servo, Permanent Magnet) 
  • LV Motor Controllers (Drives, VFD, Inverter)
  • Design and development of control panels
  • Hands-on experience on UL and IEC STDs for Electrical system development & qualification
  • Responsible for developing Product Level Electrical design, Wiring & Harness Design
  • Work along with Multi-Disciplinary (Structural, Electronics, Software and Reliability) Team to develop System or Component Level Functional, Reliability & Qualification Requirements and Design
  • To Foster an Environment conducive for Innovation & Change with good Analytical Thinking and must make design trade-offs to ensure high reliability and best performance & low cost
  • Work closely with Supply Management to Source and Evaluate / Qualify the purchased Components and Assemblies
  • Make Tradeoff analysis of circuits and components with respect to performance, cost, quality and design flexibility
  • Manage multiple technical requirements in parallel as lead of the Electrical team
  • Mentor & Guide team members on technical areas
  • Good understanding of safety and protection standards and their implementation
  • Thorough understanding of various electrical codes and country standards
  • Knowledge in PLM and system level activities
  • Good Communication Skills – Ability to work with onsite Teams and engineers
  • Experience in hiring and leading contract resources & interns
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills
  • Vendor identification, co-ordination and follow up
  • Knowledge in Electrical design tool – preferred
  • Developing strategic projects, and proof of concepts on futuristic cutting-edge technologies, towards future readiness

  • Diagnose electrical faults and identify root causes

  • Troubleshoot low‑voltage and line‑voltage electrical systems. Understand and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints

  • Assess system performance and detect issues. Test systems thoroughly and document results.

  • Perform testing and diagnostics using multimeters, megohmmeters, and other instruments

  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits, power electronics, and control systems

  • Familiarity with electrical failure modes (shorts, opens, drift, thermal stress, EMI/ESD issues)

  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, Fault tree analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

 

Experience/Skills and Education:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical, Electronics, Power Electronics or related fields

  • Work experience: 11+ years in the relevant field of Electrical system development for HVAC and other Industrial products development for Global market

  • Experience in HVAC Electrical Systems, HVAC equipment and controls is desirable
  • Must be an innovative self-starter capable of setting and meeting goals and deadlines, and of making critical business decisions. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are necessary
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and industrial awareness, capable of applying advanced approaches, technologies, and innovations in Electrical system development, and Decarbonization for organizational advancement
  • Experience in coaching & mentoring technical know-how to others is preferred.

 

Others:

  • The position is based in Bangalore
  • This position may require travel to the USA, Asia Pacific, and Europe for both short‑ and long‑term assignments. In addition, frequent travel within India to various customer sites and testing locations is expected.
