We are looking for a Training Manager to join the new Thermo King plant launch in Greenville, SC.  Thermo King is a key business unit of Trane Technologies. As a new plant startup, the training manager will play a key role in creation of the culture, capability and team effectiveness of this facility and will be a key enabler of the successful launch of this plant.

The Training Manager will be responsible for the assessment, design, development, implementation and evaluation of cost-effective learning and development solutions designed to enhance employee capability and effectiveness, instill and enhance a high-performance workplace culture, improve employee retention, and support career development and succession planning.

 Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create assimilation and training processes for a new workforce – creating product understanding of quality manufacturing techniques, customer requirements, assembly and sub-assembly processes and procedures, culture development and company integration. Develop, design, and implement internal training programs/events/development activities consistent with company business objectives, strategy and vision.
  • Evaluate external training programs and vendors to ascertain relevance of content, methodology and cost effectiveness for incorporation into internal programs. Act as liaison for vendor training.
  • Develop and implement train-the-trainer programs.
  • Develop end-user, instructional material/aides.
  • Plan, coordinate, monitor and report on implementation of training programs.
  • Conduct assessment of training and development needs across the organization and identify training needs based on the data collected.
  • Develop action plans and implement goals/objectives based upon training needs
  • Prepare annual training budget projections for review and approval.
  • Maintain sufficient documentation to effectively meet regulatory and customer needs.
  • Develop assessments of the effectiveness of training programs including an annual report of return on training investment.
  • Lead by setting a strategic direction, developing teamwork and collaboration, achieving results through others and negotiating/winning support from stakeholders in all operations
  • Effectively team, coach, and develop employees.

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Human Resources Development or equivalent is preferred, Bachelor’s degree in Education, adult training, or equivalent required.
  • 3+ Years of Training experience, preferred; recent graduates from an MHRD or equivalent program are encouraged to apply.
  • Previous experience in the refrigerated systems industry is preferred, but not required
  • Strong presentation skills along with excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
  • Plant startup experience preferred
  • Possess strong customer service focus and ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Innovative thinker with ability to develop new ideas, processes, and training material
  • Knowledge of adult learning concepts, experiential learning, and instructional theory required
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook
  • Desire and ability to research, collect, and analyze various types of data
  • Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously and ability to organize and prioritize workload
