Where is the work:
This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.
What you will do:
- Provide subject matter expertise in thermal system engineering, supporting multiple global product engineering teams.
- Responsible for ensuring the integrity of thermal system and thermal component designs used in Thermo King refrigeration and air-conditioning products.
- Participate in the advancement of Thermo King’s strategic initiatives in the areas of refrigeration and air-conditioning system performance optimization, thermal component development, and thermal system modelling.
- Be responsible for building engineering capabilities through development and application of thermal engineering knowledge, tools, and processes.
- Participate in and lead many different types of projects - new product development, new technology development, quality, reliability, and sustaining.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering (or related discipline) and at least 2 years of experience in a thermal science or heat transfer field is required.
- Expertise in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and heat transfer
- Expertise in 2-phase flow and thermal modelling of components and systems.
- Knowledge of thermal system design, fan selection and airflow design, vapor compression systems, and thermal system controls.
- Familiarity with executing experiments and tests, industrial applications, and heat exchanger manufacturing
- Fluency in mainstream engineering processes, and capable of leading efforts to improve engineering processes.
- Experience managing and completing significant projects involving multiple components and sub-systems.
- Demonstrated technical leadership on cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems by applying several engineering concepts, developing new relationships for a specific problem, quickly generating numerous alternative solution paths, and objectively selecting technically promising alternatives based on sound reasoning.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with, and influence, internal customers (across functions and upwards).
- Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data in order to provide information and recommendations to stakeholders (e.g. engineering, management, suppliers, manufacturing).
- Results-oriented self-starter with desire to learn and teach.
- Good planning and work management skills.
Base Pay Range: $ 73,000-$152,000
