The Role
The Product Management Transformation and Strategy Execution Leader will report directly to the Vice President of Product Management for the Trane Commercial Americas business unit and has crucial responsibilities necessary for enabling the success of the Product Management function to drive profitable growth through capability building, deployment of the business operating system (BOS), and strategy initiative execution.
As a transformational leader skilled in lean principles, you will collaborate closely with the product management leadership team and our cross-functional Product Growth Teams (PGTs). Your primary focus will be to lead the deployment and management of our BOS throughout the annual and long-range planning cycles, utilizing lean thinking and methodologies.
In this position, you will work alongside enterprise product management excellence and talent development resources to implement capability-building initiatives to enhance the skills of the product management function and PGTs to drive profitable growth for their respective offerings. Additionally, you will manage assigned strategic initiatives by applying our BOS and lean principles to guide cross-functional teams in the development and execution of these strategic programs.
Principal Responsibilities
- Lead our PGTs and senior leadership team (SLT) to engage in the management system (reviews, Gemba walks, leader standard work) that enables growth and speeds project execution through our BOS.
- Maintain a centralized PGT mission control. PGT Mission control is where PGTs follow and manage their standard work. This includes Strategic A3’s (annual plans), problem-solving, product multigenerational roadmaps), monthly reporting (Box 8 updates), etc.
- Lead PGT and Product Manager capability building. This is done by maintaining an active PGT maturity assessment, leveraging learning paths and training, facilitating PGT workshops, and working with the enterprise product management excellence capability-building initiative.
- Coach and ensure that PGT annual strategy refreshes are done according to the BOS planning process. Maintain quarterly pulses so that PGT strategies remain active and vibrant.
- Coach and ensure that PGT problem-solving is active when box 8 is red or other critical problems arise.
- Lead program oversight of assigned strategic initiatives. This includes maintaining an active strategic plan (A3) and guiding a cross-functional team to execute that plan.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required.
- Trained in lean thinking, lean principals and has experience training and coaching others to use the lean toolkit.
- Experience working in the product management or strategy function preferred.
- Position requires approximately 30% travel. The ability to travel internationally is required.

Where is the work:
This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $120,000-180,000
Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
