Join Trane Technologies as our Unitary Refrigeration Leader! This position will lead the refrigeration subsystem for Trane Unitary products in North America.

This is a Remote position. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Refrigeration Competency – the leader will identify competency needs and work with team managers to develop people within that competency.
  • Refrigeration Architecture – the leader will own the architecture for all Unitary products.  This includes the Unitary strategy for key components like compressors, heat exchangers, and expansion valves.
  • Refrigeration Technology – the leader will work hand in hand with Lane Liudahl, Unitary Technology Leader, on refrigeration technology roadmaps, development, and partnerships.
  • Electrification – the leader will work with Residential, Compressor NOE, and Chillers to stay tied to SBU and Enterprise activities.  They will also be responsible for architecting future Heat Pump products to meet our product roadmap needs.  
  • Standard Work – the leader will coach and improve standard work for engineers designing refrigeration systems.  This includes working with other teams on maturing our testing and modelling capabilities.
  • AHRI Certification – the leader will manage processes around our AHRI certification and management of the results.
  • Supplier Communication – the leader will be the engineering point person for Unitary products dealing with refrigeration component suppliers such as expansion valves, coils, and compressors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) and at least 5 years of refrigeration design and development experience is required.
  • Data analytics experience is a plus.
  • Project Management experience is a plus.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong in engineering fundamentals.
  • Exposed to DFSS tools with expertise in DFMEA, DFM & Reliability tools.
  • Strong project management skills and conversant with MS Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Experience working with global Engineering teams.
  • Successful experience motivating and working with culturally diverse remote teams
  • Motivated and committed to excellence.
  • Design & development or application experience in HVAC products is a plus.
  • Experience with refrigeration design and sheet metal design fundamentals is a plus.
  • Experience with data analytics is a plus.


Base Pay Range: $88,500 - $184,000

Additional Compensation: Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
