VAVE Designer Engineer
Responsibilities:
· Work with Engineering to create parts, assemblies and layouts in Creo Parametric.
· Translate verbal and/or written instructions into drawings of assemblies, subassemblies and components be used for production, sales and service.
· Perform various ways of technical support, including answering questions from other departments relative to drawings or design data.
· Create assemblies parts utilizing a 3D CAD modeling software.
· Understand basic principles of designing equipment, drafting and computer-aided design and apply principles to assigned tasks.
· Ability to make sketches, 2D and 3D engineering drawings and common computations.
· Understand and adhere to design and drafting standard practices.
· Bill of Material creation and maintenance in Windchill.
· Occasionally required to support prototype, or laboratory build and test.
· Produce work content with accuracy for review by engineers or senior department members.
· Complete assignments on time.
· Adhere to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
· Work with minor independent judgment under close direction of senior staff.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Design or related degree
· 2 to 5 years hands on experience in component selection, system integration, concept development, design calculations, design engineering in the domain currently working
· Basic knowledge in understanding material properties for materials selection considering application requirements.
· Demonstrates innovation & initiative approach at work, ability to develop new methods and approaches.
· Fosters effective teamwork where people work together to achieve common goals. A strong team player that is capable of working with others.
Key Competencies:
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and computer-generated reports, markups and hand sketches
· Experience with Creo Parametric, 3D solid modeling software and Windchill PLM software is a must
· Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, analytical and problem solving ability
· Team player and detail-oriented
· Adaptable to changing demands, priorities and objectives
· Ability to work from oral or written engineering instructions
· Customer driven and quality minded in performing all assigned duties
· Ability to handle multiple varied tasks simultaneously
· Capable of Leading Medium Design Projects and Coaching Small Projects
· Develop or Implement Design Strategies/Objectives, Revise or Maintain Standard Work, Best Practices & System Documentation
· Manufacturing process experience preferred.
· Desire to continuously seek improvement in existing process.
· Creative and energetic personality willing to assume multi-dimensional role in a fast paced custom manufacturing business.
· Good personal and end-user computing skills.
· Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
· Must be autonomous (self-starter) and have good problem-solving skills.
· Prefer a minimum of 2 years of design drafting experience in a related manufacturing design environment
