This resource will be responsible for validating the design, development and manufacturing quality of  End of line & Inline automation systems for manufacturing plants also responsible to support new IE4.0 initiatives in a long term. The person should have minimum 8 years of experience in quality controls.

 

Essential skills, Roles & Responsibilities

 

    • Design Review & Validation: Ensure that electrical schematics and control panel designs comply with applicable standards (e.g., IEC, NEC) and meet design specifications.
    • Component Verification: Verify that all electrical components used in the design (e.g., relays, PLCs, circuit breakers, etc.) meet quality and functional requirements.
    • Standards Compliance: Ensure designs comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
    • Error Detection: Check for potential errors, conflicts, or miswiring in schematic diagrams to prevent issues during manufacturing.
    • Manufacturing Oversight: Oversee the panel assembly process, ensuring that wiring, labelling, component placement, and mounting follow design documentation.
    • Inspection and Testing: Perform inspections at various stages of the panel manufacturing process, from raw material inspection to final product testing.
    • Defect Management: Identify defects or inconsistencies during the manufacturing process and work with the team to rectify them before final assembly.
    • Documentation Control: Ensure all manufacturing processes and procedures are well-documented and followed by manufacturing teams.
    • Fixture Validation: Validate that fixtures are designed according to project specifications and meet quality and performance requirements.
    • Process Improvement: Work on improving the fixture design and manufacturing processes to enhance product quality and reduce lead times.
    • Software Quality Checks: Review and verify that all software integrated into control panels and fixtures (e.g., PLC programs, HMI configurations) meet functional specifications and are free of errors.
    • Documentation: Ensure that software integration processes are clearly documented and that any software changes are tracked appropriately.
    • Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement processes to ensure higher product quality and efficiency in manufacturing.
    • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analyses for any detected issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Supplier Quality Management: Work with suppliers to ensure the quality of externally sourced components and materials.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing teams, software developers, and project managers to ensure product quality across the entire development lifecycle.
    • Compliance Audits: Conduct internal and external quality audits to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
    • Customer Support: Address any quality-related customer feedback, ensuring that any issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
    • Hands-on Experience of using AutoCAD for panel layout and schematics 
    • Good understanding of safety and protection standards and their implementation
  • Understanding of Communication protocols (RS232, RS485, USB, Ethernet…)
  • Hands on experience in system integration and testing of Industrial Automation components and systems
  • Vendor co-ordination and follow up
  • Good verbal and writing communication skills.
  • Must be a team player and support the team efficiently

 

Desired skills

 

  • Good knowledge on quality on 6 sigma process and improvements
  • Experience in technically guiding/leading Jr. Engineers
  • Experience in system integration and testing of automated test equipment’s
  • Test sequence design and logic programming will be an added advantage
  • Basic knowledge on VB
  • Project management knowledge

 

 

Travel – 25% Domestic & International travel for project testing & commissioning

 

 

Qualification

 

B.Tech/BE – EEE, E&I, Mechatronics

M.Tech/ME – Controls & Automation, Mechatronics
